MediaGuardian have got it wrong before. They reported the previous set would be launched in the evening to accompany I'm A Celebrity but in the event they were in service from 9:25am.
Some nice ideas on the ITV1 idents, although the logo is far too big to be consistent with the November 2006 ones (if they plan continuing them). Has anyone actually seen any old ones or is the MediaGuardian article getting the wrong end of the stick?
The old one known as "Paint" (I think) was used before one of today's shows. Can't remember which one, and the smaller logo was used. It looks very silly.

I haven't seen the bubbles ident yet, the garden one is my favourite so far just because the camera moves away from the first seen and reveals some nice qualities. They still need to differentiate the music more in my book, but more importantly they need to change one set of the logos, either the old ones, or the new ones. The only problem is that in both cases the logos are built into the animation of the ident.
I wonder why on earth they have made the new ones a totally different size?
One thing these new idents prove - that ITV recognise they goofed in Jan 2006. The November idents were, officially, the "second phase" of ITV's new look but it's interesting today's additions aren't being referred to as the third phase.
They've finally found something that works and expanded on it. But it's no good just adding a few more symbols every year - there needs to be regular addition to keep interest.

Only the designers of the first lot seemed to say that. Which was rediculous at the time, considering they are totally different and the first lot was dropped
Good to see a bigger logo. Most people have been complaining about idents with small 'afterthought' logos for years

A christmas package however this looks like it will only be re-worked for ITV1 for the festive season.
Ah right. *cue something festive in the video and a sparkle version of ITV1 logo overlayed* lol I seriously wish ITV1 would refresh their promo graphics, the current looks fugly.

Agree with the promo graphics, I know the logo is yellow and black, but isn't there something that could be done with a yellow theme, much like 2, 3, and 4 use there colours in their branding, and theirs still looks as good as day 1, where as ITV1 has aged rapidly.
