Goodness new look Loose Women, looks a bit cold and sterile.
Agreed! What a mess that set is. It's far too clinical and the blue colour scheme is very cold and unwelcoming. I much preferred the old orange colour scheme and set. It had a more homely, welcoming feel to it.
Awful new look to Loose Women, blue never works well usually in daytime/lifestyle programmes. The old one looked quite expensive, this one looks cheap and tacky.
I agree with that, the old one actually looked nice with windows, etc. What's with all of the random shelves, more so though random white shapes!
I wouldn't say that blue never works, but when you have blue on such a big scale, thats when the problems occur. Its a daytime programme with a background a similar colour to TV Forum!
Hang on one minute. We're talking about the ECPs moving to the bottom of the screen here. I thought you found things less distracting at the bottom of the screen. So what's the problem?
I really don't mean to be funny here, Simon, but have you ever thought about trying to see the good in things for a change? Your posts seem to be almost entirely negative, and from others' responses it does appear that people are getting rather tired of reading nothing but criticism from you.
You clearly have a fantastic depth of knowledge of TV presentation which makes you a valuable contributor to TV Forum, but I feel your negativity very much detracts from this. I'm not saying for one moment that you shouldn't express an opinion, but a bit of 'light and shade' wouldn't go amiss. Otherwise you might just come across as moaning for moaning's sake.
And please don't take this as an attack on you - it's genuinely meant constructively and with good spirit.

That's because the way television is going leaves me increasingly negative, unfortunately. I can't pretend to be happy about things when I'm not.
There seems to be some unclarity as to what is happening to the ITV ECPs; earlier posts suggested the Australian method will be employed; whereby it's the credits themselves that will go to the lower portion of the screen. If that's the case it will mean increasingly loud and in-yer-face end credit promotions and credits less legible than previously. If it's the ECP moving to the bottom, with the credits taking centre stage, that of course would be preferable.

Thanks for your support but once again it's hard to generate light where I can't see any! And people who don't like my posts don't have to read them - for everything I read and contribute to here, there's much more I leave aside.
Some nice ideas on the ITV1 idents, although the logo is far too big to be consistent with the November 2006 ones (if they plan continuing them). Has anyone actually seen any old ones or is the MediaGuardian article getting the wrong end of the stick?
