To the best of my knowledge, It'll Be Alright on the Night 6 was the first one to use what has now become their "classic" theme tune (so, it's whatever year that was).

I think the only A.O.T.N. edition since then to not use the same theme tune was the Alright on the Night's All Star Night one.

Ger anal Q, its like the STV, UTV one

I chuckled at the fact that your dyslexic spelling of "general" in the thread sub-title, means that you have "ITV" and "anal" in the same sentence! Laughing Wink

It says "A Central Presentation for ITV"

Back in those days every programme that was made by a company that wasn't an ITV contractor had to be 'presented' to the network by someone who was. With the increase in 'indie' productions, this was scrapped

Thames obviously were no longer part of the ITV Network in 1996

A "Central Presentation" that's all, because it was a US TV programme.

Many ITV companies used to do that. It's purely co-incidental that Thames were one of the co-producers with Fox - they probably didn't think!

However, after another think , it seems odd since it's in the days of CITV who surely ran network intros (rather than Front/End-caps), so there wouldn't have been a need for a regional end-cap insert.

Someone on here will know though. (I'll crawl back in my box Rolling Eyes )

Central ISTR did take on most programmes from Thames and simply did the same by putting 'A Central Presentation for ITV'. The Bill was the only exemption from this as it was originally 'A Yorkshire Television Presentation for ITV', but later became 'A Carlton Presentation for ITV' which was how it stayed.

Where as now it's just directly a Thames production or whatever company it applies to.

Did this use to apear at the end of Mr Bean? As I used to think it was a Central Production as a child for some reason.

Yes and No really, Thames made the pre-1993 in association with Tiger Aspect but I think one or two after 1993 were made for Central, but on the same level Thames Video kept the distribution right to the Videos until the end of the 1990's, where as now it's Tiger Aspect and Universal producing the DVD's.

Strange though that even for 1990 the Thames endcap is out of date, it was the triangle logo by that point
