I haven't seen either yet, however piano was quite prominent in the original Emmerdale Farm theme so not surprising that worked.
It was actually the original "Emmerdale" theme that featured the piano:

The Emmerdale rearrangment worked. Corrie's didnt and sounded awful.

Were the piano themes used on Virgin Media One(TV3) in Ireland? I’m interested to know this as the John Lewis deal would have nothing to do with them.
John Lewis do have a small section in the Arnotts store in Dublin so it might still be broadcast on TV3 aka VM1

They’re surely not going to pay for national adverting for a small department in one Dublin department store?

According to the EPG it was broadcast in one go tonight the same as ITV
It’s an omnibus of the two episodes? They probably re-edited it with the normal titles.

Ireland isn't as big as the UK so it won't be as much cost I would imagine.
