why should GMTV be a granada production? The only name that should be used under ITV plc is ITV, Granada gone when they merged, so has carlton. I know there are reasons for this, but really I dont like it. The network is in more of a mess now than ever before. It should either be a GMTV production or ITV. I think removing the GMTV brand would be a huge blow, as people know and trust it, but I would like the idea of an ITV News hour and them taking control. Just hope they relaunch the programmes and not keep the current studio.

It may well just be speculation; after all, I wouldn't take the words of "Granada insiders" as gospel.

Granada and Carlton as separate entities have gone, merged within ITV plc. However, there is a productions arm known as Granada Productions.

I'm not sure whether Carlton lives on in the Carlton Screen Advertising name or not, not having been to the cinema for a while.

It's still there and they announced that it will be the only arm to be called Carlton. ITV Cinema Advertising would sound stupid IMO.
