How did the strike affect regional news output?

Looking at the NUJ pages and tweets, I only saw one video journalist, Border's Hannah McNulty pose for a tweet with fellow strikers.

The idea of prerecording to circumvent a strike would never have been entertained in the old days, although I think the BBC did it a few years ago with one of the Saturday morning kids shows. Although don't Loose Women routinely record about half of their shows?

The Sunday episodes of Dick and Dom in da bungalow were , after the first series, always pre-recorded on the Saturday afternoon to let the bungalow heads travel home. Although, they had callers, the number was never shown on Sunday and how it was done ( I know because I phoned in once) was that they were called back after ringing in during the live saturday show. ( this caused a D&D blooper when Charlie called and didn't have the CBBC channel)

ITV Wales had a live interview with the Prime Minister in the studio, which could have been awkward with the pickets outside, but output doesn't seem to have been affected.

There wasn't a noticeable impact on Calendar. They did report on the picket line that was formed outside ITV Yorkshire

He'd just be happy they weren't protesting about him. Indeed this strike would even have passed the threshold he's proposing of 40% of all balloted members agreeing to it, something that can't be said for his government.

ITV4's football coverage being presented from what looks like the same set the BBC's Women's Football Show use. That's an indie production made by Input Media, no idea if they have their own studio or use a third party facility, but it looks like that's where ITV Sport have gone to work around the strike.

Other Border people there included Tim Backshall and Matthew Taylor as well as 1 or 2 other staff.

Tyne Tees had Ian Payne, Ross Hutchison, Simon O'Rourke, Dan Ashby and a few others were out for at least some of the day. Didn't see NET or Lookaround to see if it affected anything though.

Tyne Tees News at 6 was hosted by Gregg Easteal and another woman, who I think works for Anglia and had worked up here for a few weeks earlier in the year. Her name is Emma if I'm not mistaken.

Look North in Newcastle are always badly affected when there's a strike at the BBC, strikes in that area always seem to be well supported.

Probably Emma Hutchinson.

Incidentally, the ITN produced London bulletin went out as normal, but as they're already streamlined and share resources with the national team, it appeared to be like any other bulletin.

Emma Baker - of infamous GMTV opt out blooper fame.

She is working for Border full time and is based in Edinburgh doing stuff for Representing Border, Border life and does Lookaround reports.

I'm guessing that pre recording This Morning and Loose Women was overtime for staff. I just wonder if, another strike occurs, they staff may also elect not to do overtime?
