Does anyone else think ITV Sport's presentation is simply brilliant? The straps are excellent and quite frankly put ITV News to true shame.

What I like is that the graphics are so swish, yet understated. They aren't like 'oh stop showing off!' but they don't look at all amateurish. They also make good use of the ITV Sport logo, with the end bit flying off and down to make room for the information.

Yeah, sorry, don't know if this warranted a thread or not but there didn't appear to be a thread about ITV Sport's presentation.

I hope if ITV News rebrand again (which they need to) they take a leaf out of ITV Sport's book.

It's good - but perhaps more simple than brilliant. It could do with a little added something IMO - not sure what though.

Minor moans though - only thing which really annoys me is the football scorebar which takes up half the screen - they've had much better and more discrete ones in the past.

Whether their news or sport straps are any good, their adaptability for Sky Plus is simply awful - it's STILL showing that The X Factor started 5 minutes ago.

Who's to blame for this? ITV or Sky or both?

ITV provide the data that is uplinked to the EPG. The BBC can cope with schedule changes in their Sky EPG.

Although the ITV Sport idents themselves are good the titles for The Championship are poor, we've moved on from 1995 Wink Laughing

As much as I like ITV Sport, their branding acorss all sports is now clear, I still as has been said think it's missing something.

I quite like the over the topness, if it can be achieved, why isn't it. Much like the BBC's graphics were missing something until the simple spin and flash revamp to the graphics was brought in.
The ITV Sport graphics always seem to have a weird edge around them as though they aren't keyed onto the footage properly (though it could be more ITV's signals).

I just think its very stop and start and powerpoint-y at the moment. The idea is there, it just needs touching up, with what i don't know though. Maybe someone can suggest/design something.

I think that's more to do with the low resolution used by ITV.

I like ITV Sports graphics, but I feel they are a bit too simple at the moment. The one thing with sports is you can get away using flashy graphics. All they need to do is improve the animations and add a bit more "gloss" to it. For example, both Sky Sports and BBC Sports seem to have gone for quick but flashy animations, with more 3D looking graphics, and it works well. Another problem I see with ITV Sports graphics is while they are generally the same, they are quite inconsistent between sporting events. For example, we had one set of graphics used for the Rugby World Cup, and then another quite different set in the same style used for Formula 1.

If the edge is present on ITV1 on Freeview then it isn't a resolution thing - as ITV1 is full res on DTT, unlike ITV2-4 on DTT and ITV1-4 on DSat.

Yeah, I always find it has a weird edging, a bit like tonight on BBC One, they had a strictly come dancing trailer and the BBC One logo looked very odd with a weird edging to it on the trailer, is this because it was made last night within the studio rather than by press?

I agree about the ITV Sport graphics having to have something, maybe the ITV blob spinning (in the way of Lee's ITV productions cap), then the line come out to reveal the sport and then onto whatever.

Something that I would like to see them do is if they want to use the ITV Sport brand, keep it separate from the scorebar on football and have it transparent in the top right (or have the scorebar top right) and then they wouldn't have to have the ITV4 logo on screen too.
