Did Scottish, Grampian, and UTV change their idents on 1st September. If they're using the old ones that might be why - they don't want to modify the graphics mid-season. That's probably why ITV2's logo was out of date as well.


AFAIK STV and Grampian are still using the pre-Sept 1 look.

UTV has changed its trailers but not its ident(s). (Theoretically it has the full set pre Sept 1st + their own ones. In practice... they use only that damn blue ident!)
ITV Sport are probably guessing that SMG will change mid-season - Scottish and Grampian only changed in January after all! ITV Sport don't want to change the graphics. They don't use UTV's name either - though that's probably because they show the same sport as Carlton and Granada.

Speaking of branding, did anyone notice the Granada local trailer shown in the Yorkshire region last night, just before the local weather at 11.45pm?

So as the football is on early at the end of the month itv1 decide to put another bond movie on again, on 30th Sept at 9pm, what a surprise!!! i'm sure there's another film could be put on, they have got all of roger moore's james bond movies on at the moment on sunday afternoon, i'm sure they will last until the end of october, and i hope to god that they don't repeat any this christmas, i rememer last christmas day thunderball was on at 3.10PM.

Is that when the series family starts, as all we have so far on trailers is coming soon. Are they 60 minute or 90 minutes?

Im watching the Rugby World Cup previews on ITV1 and noticed that they have been produced in 4 x 3.

This particular episode is featuring the 1999 Rugby World Cup which im sure I remember watching in 16 x 9 back then.

More importantly this 4 x 3 version is being broadcast with 14 x 9 protection which is making the picture zoom in even more on my widescreen tv.

So from the 16 x9 to 4 x 3 conversion the far left and right of the picture has been lost and now this 4 x 3 version is 14 x 9 protected the top and bottom portions of the picture are also lost.

This is resulting in a very small portion of the original footage being transmitted and a lot of the shots being very tight and losing important information.

Why have ITV Sport taken the decision to broadcast it in this format?
