Just watching the football matches on 'itv' and noticed how the amount of ITV branding has increased! :-

Notice the way STV and Grampian are mentioned as an ITV1 region!

Hmm, I'm not sure an increasing in branding corresponds to the 'branding getting stronger' as your thread subtitle suggests. If the branding was indeed stronger, then (as 'they' say) less would be more.

Old ITV2 logo. Never mind. Anyway, I thought ITV had ONLY rights to 2 games with sky having 6, so why have ITV channels got 3 then? I know its only STV and Grampian but still?? Is that match on Sky sports for NON Scottish/Grampian viewers?

Hmm... don't suppose we can merge our 2 threads started at the same time? Surprised Unless we do one for ITV and one for Sky?

Not sure about that new sting of music used into and out of the ads. Prefered the old version

Well im just surprised that ITV have actually got their act together and there is now quite a cohesive brand amongst its sport branding.

The only people I feel sorry for are UTV, STV and Grampian who havent adopted the ITV 1 brand but have to deal with it regardless.

The only thing that has annoyed me about tonights matches are why one is in pure widescreen whereas the ITV2 match is essentially 4:3 but made widescreen - WHY?

Also NOTE how both channels now just have a plain ITV logo in the corner rather than ITV1 or ITV Sport!

It was like that last year. One match was widescreen, the other a dogs dinner. I wonder why too? It’s annoying.

The scottish match, who is presenting it?

I like the way they have made mention to the 'STV' region. STV hasn't been used on air since 1986!

At the very start of the programme (On Scottish/Grampian TV) I seen the ITV Sport animation and then the titles to the programme.

Apparently the next match in 2 weeks time on ITV1 features Arsenal and the programme starts at 5:15pm !! That's going to play havoc with News, Regional News etc. What's betting the regional news will be 5pm - 5.15pm ? With the National following after the match ?

Nope, that is true 16:9.

I think we know that. If you read the post again, you will see that the ITV 2 match is 4:3 in a 16:9 frame.
