So why don't the BBC do the same thing and get rid of UK Today?
The fact that uptake of digital satellite (remember DTT viewers get their local programme) hasn't yet been enough to justify paying the amount of money required to set-up and run that type of system.
SKY Digital has the most subscibers in the UK. I cant see why regional news isnt available. UK today is a bore to watch with that copy of the news 24 red wall which loops over and over again.

Yes but it doesn't matter that SKY Digital has the most subscribes, it still isn't enough to convince licence payers that it's a good use of money, especially with the ability (until the analogue switchoff) to simply 'press tv and button 1 on your remote'!
But they happily pay the wages for uk today staff, studio and set not to mention staff who prepare uk today and control the gallery aswell. I think its just i want to see my regional news in proper digital quality and i dont like uk today as it is a 'cheap' alternative.
