ITV have secured a new broadcasting licence for the rumoured PPV service they have considered months before.

It will probably be operated by the ITV Digital Channels subsidiary - who already run ITV2, 3, 4, Be, Encore and CITV. Also a TLCS licence, which means that it will be on Sky and Virgin for that matter.

Edit: The recent testing of the channel has warranted a change of the title to just simply the channel name, with a launch coming soon.

What's it going to show I wonder, sports? or stuff from ITV archives, not much else they have.

I doubt they will show anything from their archives - ITV3 and Encore fulfill that remit.
It's related to boxing - ITV were looking to get a deal where boxing fights would be split between ITV4, a Box Office channel and possibly ITV.

As metalgearrex says there's been a rumour going round for a while that ITV are going back into Boxing and will show fights free to air and pay per view

Anyone know what sort of figures Sky Sports Box Office and Box Nation get. Boxing does have a loyal audience but it's quite an ask to get people to pay for the big fights which are generally in the early hours of the morning.

Interesting. ITV are splashing the cash.

They'd have grown bigger if they hadn't laumched ITV Digital

I wonder if they'll come to an arrangement with Sky for IPTV distribution for NOW TV boxes? They already have Encore on the platform.

It's a shame they've never put Sky Box Office on Now TV - in a way with the daily Sky Sports passes Now TV customers are arguably more used to pay per view than those who subscribe monthly to Sky Sports.

Seems like those at ITV thought "Hmm, remember ITV Select? Yeah, lets bring that back, but instead, its called ITV Box Office."

I think this could be a good opportunity to push the ITV Hub, with Box Office PPV available on there, rather than just on TV (just Sky and Virgin?).

And even the possibility of being on Freesat, as a paid app?

ITV Box Office is now testing on Astra 2.
Frequency: 11068
Polarisation: Vertical
Symbol Rate: 23000
FEC: 3/4
Mode: DVB-S2/8PSK

It's definitely available on Sky. I can see Virgin also attain carriage deals with ITV as well, though it's uncertain.

The label is designated as '20825'.
