And I see YTV is also closing a SD region.

So it looks like several SD regions are closing in the following regions:

Anglia,
Meridian,
Central,
Tyne Tees,
Yorkshire,
WestCountey.

The question is, after April 13th, what SD ITV regions will be still available on DSat?

Border England SD closed last year when a load of SD regions were removed from DSat.

Only Border Scot in SD now for SD DSat boxes.

So it's not closed if the transmission still exists, it's just been removed from the EPG on HD boxes, (which only saves ITV a small amount of money) ?

Are these latest announcements indicating the actual transmissions will end, because that would mean big savings ?

It does look like actual transmissions of certain SD regions are ending, i.e. Central East SD boxes will get Central West SD instead. In order to get Central East back those SD box households are being advised to get an HD box, as its only gonna be available in HD.

The fact that these 6 regional news articles are recommending SD Box households to contact their satellite provider to ask for a HD box does indicate the correct SD services are being removed all together, and SD boxes will be left with a neighbouring SD region instead.
The best way and in some cases the only way to get the correct regional news is to get a HD box.

....or just resort to Freeview's SD versions ?

I suspect those who have a SD only box, and have not bothered to upgrade their box to HD probably can't receive a decent freeview signal.
The ITV news articles suggest such households with just an SD Sat box only are so low, these changes should not affect that many.
