But I think we've been so used to the name Granada that we have embraced it in Northern Society.
They chose Granada for their company, then just a cinema chain, because it was deemed exotic in the days before cheap air travel and package holidays to Spain.
They chose to broadcast to the north because their cinemas were in the south of England and they didn't want to compete with themselves
