One has to ask, why? I saw it and thought it was awful. The Saturday night slot certainly didn't suit the show, and the ratings proved that.
Simple, International Sales and DVD, I saw a couple of episodes of the programme, I wasn't over impressed, but it looks like it has potential, some people did like it, it was shown in other countries (as the credits said so, but ITV was the big player in it), I have seen it in the DVD charts for a few weeks now, which isn't bad for an ITV programme.
The premise of this programme was utterly absurd. Marven's usual programmes crossed with Walking with Dinosaurs. Marven running around after CGI-generated animations and saying what a glorious creature they are etc.
Creatively bankrupt, cheesy special effects and total lack of originality (Marven himself is just a pale-faced copy of Steve Irwin), just what I'd expect from ITV.
And apparently according to the Sun (pinch of salt) the Sharon Osborne show has been recomissioned too.
I guess they'll put it up against Richand and Judy where it'll probably split the audience equally.
Then again Media Guardian has quite rightly pointed out that a recommission is fairly unlikely if you look at the ratings.
Even Richard and Judy started pulling ahead during Sharon's first week. They'd be better off going with Bradley Walsh, put him against R&J where he could establish a good audience, and work from there. I think he'd work quite well with his own chat show.
