I think it may be the blue background, in my mind the rest is ok (not brilliant but ok) but the background just doesn't look right. The BBC Map has the proper shades of the sea rather than all in one colour.

Slightly OT about the blue, but ITV Granada have found some form of happy medium, instead of the bright blue, there are pictures of clouds in a slightly darker blue, I noticed the ITV National Weather isn't doing this, but ITV Granada is, I'll try and get a cap later.

Well ITV Granada still has it's Weatherline, though it has never been promoted by the presenter...

And here is what I meant from earlier, it looks better than the bright blue...

Which doesn't appear on ITV London, which has the awful blue...

Does the clouds in the background only appear in the GMG North Regions? It would look nicer if they added the effect onto the National Weather, as that Blue is enough to make you go blind. I think it's weird without the locations on the GMG maps, though it's odd ITV London has gone the other way and have added them.

It wasn't on Yorkshire!
Maybe Jon tweaked it whilst Kerrie who was responsible for Yorkshire weather today didn't.

That looks much better. It hasn't been on Tyne Tees - I imagine it will be once Bob gets used to it though, he likes tinkering with the graphics. The yellow bar is not being used unlike other stations, but still appears randomly (no text though). It looks better without.

Bob still has the locations - and of course one is an anagram which reveals itself on the next map. The first letters can also still be lined up (reading down) to make a random word. Here's one from the last graphics package.

How damned irritating - I was sure I heard Fred mention something about the new weather graphics being talked about, but I thought nothing of it and didn't bother watching. Did anyone capture that? (he says, knowing what the answer will be)

MP3 File

So who's going to set up the Martyn Davies appreciation website? Laughing Actually you know I think one day we will have to start coming up with random words and see how many of the 'famous' forum viewers mention it while doing there presenter duties. Razz

I noticed yesterday that they were using some of the image backdrops for the sea:

As the weather bulletins shown on the ITV News Channel are made for broadcast ONLY on the ITV News Channel you would have though that the ITV Weather people could easily produce the bulletins without the ITV Weather logo in the top right so it doesnt clash with the ITV News graphic. Also ITV could move the picture upwards so that the ITV News graphic lined up correctly with the blue band where the usual ITV Weather/ITV regional name resides.

Good idea?

Some ITV1 weather forecasts are certainly repeated on the News Channel. Though of course the morning ones are News Channel-exclusive.

And they *do* usually move the picture up to sit neatly above the ticker - but sometimes they seem to forget.
