"UTV did. UTV logo sat in place of the ITV one..."

So they should be in proper widescreen then Smile

Did Frank Mitchell/Tina Campbell/Alison Fleming/Claire McCollum (delete if necessary) make any mention of the new weather graphics?

And is the 1755 UTV forecast still the only one with the presenter in-vision?

TTTV's was the same style, different image. There area also similar versions used for the high tide, and I assume the barometer. The Lookahead looks too empty compared to the old slide, but the sub-regional maps are still there, as are Bob's place names and weather village. The yellow info strap (a la GMG) has also been removed, Bob doesn't seem to like them.

Well now I don't know why Wales don't get tide times as well, with no doubt the most coastline of all of these regions. Mind you I don't think they understand about the seaside in Birmingham.

There are no sunrise/sunset times either [to make it all even more bland] -- it's as if everyone lives in a cave.

Surely the old ITV graphics were much better than all this business, but either way I shall miss Charlie's pictures.

the fab backgound photos made up for the crappy graphics. if you were lucky they used a little video clip. i remember when she showed us a lovely shot of a falcon which flew into her head.

who needs tides and sunrise times when charlie and emma have their photos of dogs with caps and sunglasses on!!

Bob still has an image/video to start every forecast (usually related to the 6.27 weather village). Sunrise times were also on. Haven't seen a Europe map yet - hopefully it will still be labeled as 'us'.

The weatherline now appears at the begining of the broadcast, on the same strap as the presenters name. Just like it does in Yorkshire.

Ben, did Carl do the Anglia Weather too? In the first shot, I could swear it says ITV Anglia up the top.

That's just a cock-up on their part.

TV Forum is famous!

Well, it didn't mention the name, but Martyn Davies was in the studio with Fred and Debbie in Meridian Tonight (South), for the usual pre-forecast chat. 18:26 tonight.

Fred was commenting about the new graphics, and Martyn was talking about the "TV Forum" where readers are talking about the new weather look. Martyn said he was reading through the forums and gathered that "most people like the new look". He also said its scary that there are people that talk about weather graphics on the web and "it's like being followed".

He said this is the shape of things to come though for ITV Weather, and there will be "a lot more on the way", including maps which "zoom down to street level" etc.

How damned irritating - I was sure I heard Fred mention something about the new weather graphics being talked about, but I thought nothing of it and didn't bother watching. Did anyone capture that? (he says, knowing what the answer will be)
