I see the little bit of extra information that was a key part of GMG weather has continued onto this new look, there underneath the day.

You can tell that logo was something rigged up by the weather department, after having seen the logo for ITV1 and not designed by the usual marketing people.

They are definally better than what was used on the National Weather. That silly squashed bold font they used looked awful. They arn't an improvement on GMG's old regional graphics

TTTV's was the same style, different image. There area also similar versions used for the high tide, and I assume the barometer. The Lookahead looks too empty compared to the old slide, but the sub-regional maps are still there, as are Bob's place names and weather village. The yellow info strap (a la GMG) has also been removed, Bob doesn't seem to like them.

Still not very comprehensive for the capital city. I've often wondered why ITV or the BBC don't provide a Central London forecast. BBC London have done it very occasionally but it seems to vary wildly.

London is a small area, I don't see anyone giving a Derwentside forecast, even though it's easily the size of London, and has much greater variation from low-level weather, unlike London. That map is about 5 times more zoomed in than BBC NE&Cs forecast.

We got about fifty mentions of the new graphics here, on the minute, every minute Razz

This is how it looked in the Anglia region. I suppose each region will have it's own tweaks here and there. I like the ITV2 style boxes on the summary!

The only thing that I don't like is the bright blue background, at least put some sort of gradient on it! The weather icons are very much like GMTV's, not bad overall IMO.

I really do think these graphics are a step in the right direction but I would like to see the green land a bit darker so the actual icons are more visible.

Also I would prefer not to see the region name in the corner during the weather - I thought ITV wanted to get rid of regional branding? This seems to be a step backwards!!! As much as I used to like regional branding I feel this is a token gesture and not even done properly! Also it is so small in the corner that you cant read it properly anyway!

I'm not too sure about using the end credit rundown thingy either - stating Today, Tomorrow etc. Good idea but don't think it looks that great on screen.

Also one MAJOR point - why are all the weather bulletin now 14x9 with the black bars top and bottom - does this mean they are being made in 16 x 9 widescreen ready for when ITV News transfers to widescreen? Will this happen soon?

The logo's are a mess and do need sorting out. I didn't like the old GMG graphics and I am glad they have been replaced by the new ones but the old national weather graphics is better than the new one. If they did the new logo and graphics but with the old weather map this would be perfect.

I would imagine that they put the regional name up there because normal people (I don't think we count as normal) can't tell whether its local or national weather.

Exactly absolutley agree. The old ones looked much more modern and nicer. These look too BBC. The ITVand_regional logo looks more like a castle the way it is joined (and isnt)!
