Owen Thomas did apologise - and joked that Sian Lloyd was looking even skinnier than usual.

Thank goodness for that. I don't really like the dark blue behind Sian though (at the left hand side).

I can't help but notice that GMG North Weather is rather odd in presentation at the minute, if Jon Mitchell is presenting Granada Weather he will use this background, which is far easier on the eyes...

...but if any of the female presenters are on, they use the normal bright blue background. I like the whole style of the new ITV National/Regional Weather, it's the bright blue I have a problem with.

I agree with you there.
The blue is a bit too much, it's as though somebodies been watching the weather on Sky News.
I just don't like that blue, even on the ECP's I think it looks awful especially compared to the old floating squares, why ITV1 can't use an ident background I don't understand.
As for the weather, the clouds look nice, but so would a light blue gradient. If only it could be taken across the regions if not to the national.
How would they change the background, would they use the blue to CSO a different background onto the maps or are the maps overlaid onto the backgrounds?

Over on DS someone is saying that in Yorkshire they got a generic northern forecast this morning. Anyone know anything about this?

Strange. There were only those 3 slides used and Debbie talked in general terms about 'our region', only mentioning North Yorkshire once
