Anyway, what happens with the regional opt out during the Lunchtime News, On Calendar after the sting they cut straight to the studio, but on Border News after the sting they then play the long Border News opening titles first

Border were the only ones to get a new set yesterday, you will have to see Lookaround to see what it looks like, it's quite nice with the huge desk. At the end of the programme they showed behind the scenes in the newsroom, studio and gallery.

just to let you know in the channel islands...
first channel are still presenting them selves as Channel Television and not ITV1 Channel
Secondly they do there own idents going into the news saying its "channel television's news hour etc"
Thirdly it seems they do not agree with all the regions becomming one and haveing newsrooms that tie in with the new itv news set, as they have there own opening montage and graphics that couldnt be any more different from the blue and yellow..its black and orange, they did have a organge background behind the presenters, but that has been changed to blue, so it looks a mess, they have there own local ad break in the news and at the end so they dont hand over to itv news..the presenters then said at the end join us again for the headlines at 10 2 7...
To sum up channel are standing firm on being totally removed and inderpentant, but to be honest there out put from 9.25am till nighttime..is messy mucky. I do admire the fact they are makeing a stand on being channel tv but to do that you realy have to go all the way and that means all forms of presensation ie local continuity that should have...thay also dont do enough local programmes to represnt the islands its all squeezed into there news show..
And the only thing they do that truly is local and special is Puffins Pla(i)ce but it seems they carnt be botherd to fight for that now..
