There's a promo now starting to air for the show on ITV/UTV which shows the set, the new theme and some short clips. It doesn't look that bad.

A carol service by the "turns" though seems a bit out of place...

There is something intrinsically wrong seeing a version of Blankety Blank which has a budget...

Joke about them calling it a 'Christmas Special' and not a pilot in case it's a flop!

The podiums (?) for the celebrities are far too small. David looks like he's towering over everybody. Mind you, he seems pretty competent so far, and thankfully playing it more dry and professional than I thought he would.

I am surprisingly enjoying this! David is making a great host so far.

Im enjoying this aswell, I think we can get away with it being one hour special for xmas but if it come back it would need a 45mins slot., just to make sure its not dragged out.

Talk about cheap prizes?! I think someone at ITV has got it just right for this series, and its not often you can say that,.

The set seems a bit small and compact to me, especially compared to the Lily Savage era. And the podiums seems to make the celebrities look like midgets and David like a giant.

Overall it's ok. I don't rate David Walliams overly highly. I find him funnier when he's playing other people rather than being himself. Julian Clary would have been a good choice of host IMO.

The original was renowned for crap prizes, hence the chequebook and pen thing

That was surprisingly entertaining. I'm glad Walliams reigned himself in and played the more-or-less professional host, rather than doing one of his full-on caricatures of himself. Some of the audience noise "enhancement" was a bit jarring, though, especially at the start.

Not bad at all, but Joe was pathetic. He's not really suitable for a 6:30pm show.

I know Twitter is overused but Joe did not go down well there.

Other celebrities were good though.
