Is that one of those magic eye things ?

Ohh no, that is my BBC One picture at the moment.
We are under rather a lot of thunder storms at the moment!

Oh pooh!

Can you do magic eye?
I always get the inverted image, so instead of the shape coming out at me, it goes in and I have to spend ages working out what it is.
But I still get the 3D effect!

What that meant for me the viewer is only having the choice of Discovery Kids and Discovery Wings(?) no other Discovery channel was available.

the man at the subscription centre told me this when i called to complain so maybe someone could confirm this?
Yes and no.
Sky do charge high prices for Sky Premier, Sky MovieMax Sky Sports 1, 2 and 3 to ONdigital. To be exact, ONdigital makes 0.00 profit from those channels (which is why the OFT are looking at the case for ONdigital). As for National Geographic and Discovery, in the analogue days, when BDB (ONdigital) got their licences, Sky paid money to such channels to not be on DTT until a given date. Nickelodeon and Paramount are a good example of such tactics. Discovery have quite a long deal with Sky, and Discovery, realising the problem, launched Kids and Wings, so ONdigital viewers had access to thier programming. ONdigital have said, that they would take Discovery as soon as it is avalible for them (probably at the expence of Discovery Wings).

Yeh that happens to me, I once stood in Meadowhall staring at one of those pictures in a shop window for about 20 mins until I got it. I got the BBC balloon coming out at me from your screenshot.

There is no such thing as Sky Broadcasting Services and it wouldn't surprise me if this is OnD trying to blame Sky for their poor performance.

Ta Aaron! Different situation here, though. The first channel of the state broadcaster ERT (equivalent of the BBC) is called ET1 - and that usually is on button 1.

The name ANT1 is a play on words in Greek and represents the name 'ANTENNA' - the male form of the word one being 'ena'. It should, by my reckoning be button 4 after ET1, ET2 (now NET), and MEGA - the order they came on air.

Going off-topic again, sorry Smile

Yeah, I think Ant1 was on button 4 when I've been there, don't remember seeing much Mega though, I presume that was on 3, although there was an ET3 on some channel last time I went, Star was on mainly, because of the english stuff. I don't recognise Tempo or Alpha either, from your site, but I know that there was a few channels, as it went up to 2 digit channels without a blank channel of fuzz. Smile

I think S2 has now left us and ITV2 goes under a different name in Ulster, I can't think what it is though.
I'm sure it's something cheesy though.

S2 is but barely alive. All its programmes were axed in Jan, its changed to a carbon copy of ITV2 with different ads. Which UTV2 was already, and it doesn't even have ads. (Yes, a commercial TV channel without commercials...)

UTV will stay UTV, believe me. They're just after a makeover and a new logo. (I would say expensive, but it wasn't.)

The reason UTV2 was originally called 'TV You' is because UTV likes to be pronounced 'You TV', it even had a programme called that. Its slogan was 'UTV is Your TV', now its 'TV For You'. It tries to use the word 'You' in all sorts of imaginative ways...

Ohh the endless slogans, I can see them now!!

I've been to the Meadow Hall place in Gateshead.
It was the only shopping centre that actually contained oxygen. In comparision, in the Trafford Centre you are fed off a mixture of recycled nitrogen and the smell of urine!
I liked the Meadow Hall place but don't remember buying anything!

I've got rid of the screenshot now, because you may notice that my website has changed.... rather a lot actually!
TV-Ark here I come Wink

Still very much in testing at the moment but once I get all of the files together i'll be sorted... including every Sky News ident (except 1995, which we are hoping to find soon!) and all in R8.5.

I've been to both though and I don't remember buying anything, which is rather odd for me.
