You have to admire the complete change . . .
...even government departments haven't managed that - yet

Logistical success is rather a minor factor though, when the logo is bad and the company is heading south . . . Shocked

so . . . the Wales/West/Westcountry regions just don't exist?

Did Ofcom make them up, or did ITV/itv make the regulator up?

ITV has gone from £1b in debt to having £800m in cash and the share price has almost doubled finally passing £1 for the first time in years. Crozier is being showered with praise.

They're stressing it's a worldwide rebrand - but they don't mention the 'ITV Granada' Asia/Middle East channel. I wonder if that will get a new look.

Twitter responses to the new logo, quite humourous

The sneaky little ITV dog isn't on the feed up in Scotland.

Which seems obvious until you realise ITV PLC (nearly said ITV1 there...) owns the licence for the whole UK, including up here, from 6am until 9.25am and we constantly see ITV logos during those hours.

Have to say, having seen it on screen the ITV logo doesn't look anywhere near as bad as it does on a computer. It's still going to take some getting used to though. The idents are a very mixed bag - some very well executed, some not so much.

Ultimately though they're not a complete embarrassment and while we're obsessed with idents, most people aren't. (the fact people aren't baffled by the appearance of ITV or ITV1 in the morning on STV being a giveaway). Content is king. As long as ITV/ITV1/STV/whatever they're called this week keep showing the likes of Coronation Street or The X Factor they'll be fine.

Considering how well executed the rebrand is, seems they've let themselves down on the Sky front. EPG still refering to all the regions as ITV1, with the old logo and idents still in use on ITV Player on the On Demand service.

EPG positions belong to the people who buy them (which is why Sky have no control) so if it still says 'ITV1 ****region***' then it's cos ITVplc thought it wasn't necessary to change it, or forgot . . . or cos Astra don't do updates until after 10:30

I bet that ugly DOG is only so faint so they can get away with it for a few weeks - I bet they'll whack the brightness up after a while and then respond to complaints with "it's been there since Jan 14 and nobody complained".

Hang on, just spotted the ITV dog at the top left on STV. Smallest dog ever - and presumably not in the safe zone, as I can only see half of it on screen.

No chat about STV showing the ITV idents on Twitter. Tons of chat about the fact people in STV-land apparently can't use ITV Player any more...
