Don't see why they haven't kept London in this style then.
I guess its easier considering it's the only region to be CSO-ed. Might as well give them a set that's actually designed for CSO, and just replace the background.
Didn't London have a physical set before they moved to CSO? Perhaps they refurbished that and shipped it over? It seems a waste if they commissioned a brand new copy of the old regional sets.
If it was refurbished and shipped it couldn't have been that long ago, there was pictures of something going on in that studio. Studio 4(?) is the old LT one, hopefully they do that up for the new look and use it as an updates/backup studio.
Hmm, bar the graphics on the screens, the new regional sets are almost the same as the teal sets we had in the first place! Really disappointed with these - thought they'd have something new after 8 years, but apparently not.

Even though it makes much more sense to use the Green Screen for the bulletins as well, rather than for them to 'do that up' and have them use a studio they don't need or use anymore...
The real newsroom shot, which I believe is what was behind the set, would be good as a backup/update studio.
But it'd be pointless and an unnecessary expense. As much as you might *love* it for them to do that, the odds are incredibly low. Also, the studio was on an upper floor, I believe, so you'd get a similar background to Channel 4 News,
