Anyone else spot the old ITV1 logo on Food Glorious Food last night?

Spoiler tagged as the image is a bit big.

Surveys can be spun any way the person asking the question wants them to be. It depends on the question you ask.

That ITV1 spot is a very good one, can't have been on screen for too long. Also suggests to me the programme wasn't too hot if you spotted that rather than concentrating on the exciting action...

What an utterly bizarre place for it to show up! On someone's wrist!

The wristbands presumably were for entry purposes to the recording. They had 'food glorious food' written on the other side in what looks like the old itv font. Obviously it was recorded well before the itv logo was unveiled & also before any branding for the programme was created.

89% of how many asked and 77% of how many asked?

Great to use percentages but what are the percentages relating to (i.e. the actual number interviewed)

Do you not understand survey results?

The figures given are percentages of those asked (or those who responded).

If it's supposed to be a representative sample, then it's taken as an indication of the views of all viewers, usually with an error of margin as a caveat.

Sometimes, where people complain about credit squeezing it's to do with the sudden interruption to the mood of the programme - which often was produced to include the music and tone of the end credit sequence.

From the point of view of the talent concerned, they are denied credit for their work. Either way, credit squeezing is not for the benefit of the viewer.

I believe that programmes should be shown in full, and a programme doesn't finish until the end credits have been completed.

I do know how they work but it also depends on how many people were asked?

Was it 77% of 100 people, 1000 people or 10000 people or more????

If it was only 100 or 1000 how can that be represenative of the majority of people?

Its like those shampoo ads, or others, where they have only asked 88 people or less! Definitely not representative, but makes good figures!!!

New 'new born baby' ident on itv today.

EDIT: plus I think it's the first ident to include both versions of the themes in one.

Just to clarify - are you sure that isn't the ident with the mother kissing her baby that's been around since launch?

Has it?

I spotted it quite a while back last month, so I can only assume it has. I've only seen it once or twice, which may account for it being overlooked here. I thought it was known - otherwise, I'd have flagged it up earlier.

ADD: Judging by the Wikipedia list, the Haircut ident has also been skipped over.

The April edition of MacUser magazine has a feature on ITV logos through the ages, starting with all the regional companies and ending up with analysis of how the current logo evolved:

What the heck does a TV channel have to do with MacUser? Isn't that magazine about Mackintosh computers?
