According to Wikipedia, here's the full list of current ITV idents:
Ballet Girls, Boxer, Bus Bunny, Candy Floss, Fire Breather, Fireplace, Fish n' Chips, Hot Air Balloon, Ice Scraper, Lift, Line Marker, Lips, Lounge Dancing, Marching Band, Mums On The Run, Night Cyclists, Night Walkers, Pugwash, Rave, Rescue Boat, Road Sweeper, Seamstresses, See-Saw, Surfboarding Lesson, Swimmers, Tumble Dryer, Welder.
That's 27 idents altogether. Does ITV really need that many idents for one channel?
As for my collecting them on video: the only one I still haven't been able to get is Boxer . Has ITV actually shown the Boxer ident? If so, when did it last show the Boxer ident? They never seem to show it whenever I set my HDD/DVD recorder to record a programme junction, or record a programme junction manually.
All the others I've managed to get at least once, and many of them I've got several times over. They seem to show Pugwash more than many of the others. Lift and Welder tend to get used only for the news for some reason.

Personally I think it's a big improvement to have a large selection of idents for a channel rather than constantly seeing the same few over and over again (as it was in the last few years on ITV). Having lots of different ones keeps it fresh.

Yes. They commissioned that many, therefore they did. Unfortunately, they didn't account for the inconvenience this would cause you (or maybe they did).

In six months time some of these will probably be 'rested' such as the pug wash due to complaints that a dog should not be wash as frequent....

Well for comparison, there are currently:
5 idents on ITV2: Lion Walker, Office Chair Curling, Supermarket Joust, Bubblewrap Sumo, Office Fan Tennis.
6 idents on ITV3: Garden, Wolf, Masked Ball, Forensic Laboratory, Sea, Writer.
8 idents on ITV4: Cardboard boxes, Trophy Lift, Tour de Garage, Explosion, Kung Fu, Bonnet Roll, Rock 'n Rolls, Laundryman!,
10 idents on CITV: Chameleon, Crane, Ducky, Monster, Seagull, Shark, Elephant's Butt, Clapeye, Mr Martian, Sebastian (the last 4 of which were C-Creatures idents designed by children).
That's why I was asking if ITV needs 27 idents when the other ITV channels have far fewer idents.
Anyway, does anyone know if ITV has shown the Boxer ident yet?

Well, I haven't seen Boxer either, but I'd put it down to (a) possibly being the least appropriate ident for most general use and (b) I'm afraid I haven't been keeping an eye on every single junction. Missed roughly the first fortnight actually, then I had one proper look at it and figured I hadn't really missed much at all, so to speak. But still.
I've seen particular ones - such as Candy Floss - pop up more frequently than others. Lift appears to be the most suitable news ident.
All the music sounds so-so IMHO, and most of it is relatively bland - if suitably unobtrusive for continuity. In the case of Night Walkers, it's just effective enough to save what would otherwise be a very dreary ident. The track on Welders feels too generic and uptempo for the action -- compare to the metallic S4C Welding from their retired audio-reactive set, for example.
I reckon Pugwash has the most catchy tune for sure, but I'm sorry to say, I just don't like the ident itself. As an avid ITV viewer: I'd be hoping for them to cut down on the use a little. But actually I'm not one. So it's somewhat less of a problem.

There appears to be 2 different themes, there's an 8 note theme (used on hot air balloon) and a 11 note one (used on candy floss) they do need to be more varied though I think, they all seem slow and calm. They need like a rock edit for welder and a pop edit for another and so on.
My favourite themes are see-saw and pugwash.

In theory though people watch ITV far more often than ITV2/3/4 - smaller channels can get away with fewer idents as people watch less regularly, so don't see them so often.
