ITV Rebrand 2013

I really wish they'd stop with this 'Your ITV' nonsense. I've no idea what outcome they think will come out of saying it all the time but it's painfully irritating when they mention it on most junctions and it's becoming more frequent.

They're also saying it on the other channels. It's way too corporate.

Yes, "Your ITV2" sounds really rubbish. Especially when they're telling you that You've Been Framed is on next.

DOGs for your ITV and "your TV" together.

ITV's DOG makes UTV and STV look unreasonably massive, it looks odd they're still 4:3 safe in 2013.

TVS & Meridian did this during adverts too...

It's fairly normal, but annoying, marketing stuff. Everywhere seems to do it these days - 'Your M&S' being a current prominent example.

Looking at the ITV Current Idents page of The Ident Gallery, here are all the new ITV idents that have appeared so far.

The last three weeks I've been trying to record them on my HDD/DVD recorder. I've now got most of the above, some more than once, but some hardly ever seem to get shown. Pugwash seems to come up oftener than the others.

I managed to get Ballet Girls, Candy Floss, Hot Air Balloon, Lounge Dancing, Pugwash, Rescue Boat, Seesaw, Swimmers, Welder on their first day of being shown 14 Jan 2013, but it's taken me longer to get others. As expected I managed to get Ice Scraper before Dancing On Ice: The Skate Off the evening of 27 Jan 2013. Has it been shown since then? For comparison, last night 3 Feb 2013 they had Candy Floss before DOI main show and Ballet Girls before DOI Skate Off.

I've still not been able to get the following:

Mums on the Run
Boxer
Road Sweeper

I did see Bus Bunny for the first time ever yesterday afternoon at the start of Harry Potter, but annoyingly didn't have my machine recording at the time. They don't seem to show that very often. As for Mums on the Run, Boxer and Road Sweeper, they don't seem to show those. Put it this way, they haven't shown them when I happen to have been recording idents. Do they tend to get shown before certain programme types? For instance, does Boxer only get shown before boxing / wrestling? Thinking that might be the case I looked to see if there'd be any boxing / wrestling on ITV over the weekend hoping they'd show the Boxer ident before it, but there was none on.

Night Walkers, Seamstresses and Get your hands in the air are on the ITV Channel Current Idents page of The Ident Gallery, but not the main ITV page. Are they peculiar to the Channel region (Channel Islands), or used nationally?

One other new ITV ident not on The Ident Gallery current idents list is Marching Band (trumpet players) - I got it before Grimefighters at quarter past midnight 28 January 2013. Evidently The Ident Gallery ITV Current Idents can't be a complete list of every new ITV ident that's appeared so far.

I do wish you would get off Andrew's back. You can't expect him to have captured EVERY SINGLE IDENT. He (like most presentation enthusiasts) have something called a LIFE.

Andrew has done a great job in capturing idents for his site, and he goes to a lot of effort in order to do this, it's a shame people like you have to criticise for the fact he has idents missing from that page.

I'm not criticising Andrew, as far as I'm concerned he's done an excellent job at building up pages full of the current ITV, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and CITV idents. Well done him.

I was just saying I've managed to get one extra ident, Marching Band on my HDD/DVD recorder during one of the programme junctions I happened to set it for.

I take it he's captured all these idents by setting a video recorder of some sort (HDD, DVD, Sky+ box etc) to record programme junctions and taking selected frames from each one to post on The Ident Gallery. If so, well done him getting Bus Bunny, Mums on the Run, Boxer, Road Sweeper when he did.

Calm down, please. No one has said they expect The Ident Gallery to have EVERY SINGLE IDENT. Although, saying that I expect they probably will have EVERY SINGLE IDENT one day, so Tumble Tower's observation that the list is currently incomplete is useful information. He also helped by mentioning an ident that isn't on the list yet, unless it is on the list but under a different name of course, what is the provenance of the names posted? Are they official in any way?
