That reminded me to have a look on Countdown, and yes, new logo.
Yes fair play, the logos even changed in the YouView adverts.

One thing they've done very well is get everything to change all in one day. And I mean everything - catch the end of University Challenge later on BBC Two.

Again, looks awful.
And using the ITV font instead of the usual one for writer/director credits is madness.
Two bad moves in this relaunch among many good ones.

This is all so dated anyway, no other country apart from Ireland has them
It might just be because it's the first day of the new look, but does anyone else think the announcers are given longer to speak on idents now?
Previously, it would be rare an ident would last more than about 10 seconds, now they seem to last closer to 20 seconds.

I dont understand how anyone could have anything against it, at least it's consistent, unlike how the BBC dot it around their titles willy nilly.

Well...there's Belgium, Finland, Sweden... but I prefer for it be before the ident.

I've got to admit that this turned out better than I thought. The logo did eventually grow on me just in time for the launch. The ITV idents are a bit bland, but the fact that there are so many of them, it should keep things varied. Everything else including the break bumpers and endboards are amazing. Looks immensely fresh. Just a shame the credits are still dull as balls.
I like the fact ITV2 hasn't gone for full-on young stuff like the old ones did. I still can't understand why they think their audience will prefer ITV2 if their logo is in someway 3D. ITV3, as everybody else says, is lovely. As for ITV4, the idents seem fun, and they play down that unfortunate grey scheme. I didn't pay much attention to the old CITV set, but the new ones seem to have a lot of life in them. As for ITV News, it looks so much brighter and fresher, and the set doesn't look horrendously virtual.
All in all, they've done a good job. Well done, ITV. Makes the BBC look a bit dull, to be honest...

I prefer the way the BBC do it - fade it in for a few seconds at a suitable point near the beginning. I think having both the logo and programme title causes a bit of clutter, as can be seen in the EastEnders titles.
On The Chase before they did this, the ITV logo faded in at the start of the programme rather than at the end of the titles.

I've just had a scan through and this is my take of the idents:
ITV - Generic idents seem to hide a bit, certainly when viewed on a computer, unsure if it is better on a TV. The themes are OK and will probably work well for the times they'll be used i.e. daytime. The specific logos will probably be used for the peak programmes.
ITV2 - Whitty idents that will probably do fine for the target audience. The logo is by far the best
ITV3 - As said before these are just beautiful and suit the channel perfectly, in my opinion better than the last lot which was a bit neutral and meaningless. The only problem - again the ITV3 logo is too shy.
ITV4 - Similar to ITV2, they could work and are aimed at the right audience.
ITV News - Brilliant - a look that works well, including the different times on Big Ben and a set that doesn't scream "I'm not real". An enourmous improvement.
Regional News (Meridian) - Nice titles and better aligned with the main news brand. Disappointed at the set design - a video shown on tonight's ITV News Meridian (yes that is the title) showed how they changed the flooring and the lights. I was expecting more. Some of changes seen here: http://www.itv.com/news/meridian/update/2013-01-14/itv-news-meridian-reveals-new-look/
However hats off to ITV as a whole for the seamless change on TV, Websites and on buildings and vehicles. A complete rebrand overnight. No easy feat but looks fantastic.
