ITV Rebrand 2013

Seems ITV Anglia haven't encoded their titles right, they played back at 25p rather than 50i as used on the national titles, looked quite jerky.

You can't link that way, they expire.

Just found this posted on Digital Spy:

ITV Central running an item on the change and saying it was co-ordinated and designed at their new hub in Birmingham...

To quickly summarise - basically once again ITV(1) lets the whole set down again. ITV News looks great, but a real shame about the regions - surely even just replacing the desk and chairs would freshen it up a bit.

ITV2 - like the general presentation and the logo animates much better on the idents, but agree with the earlier comment they could have kept the green. ITV3 once again the stand out of the set - but ITV4 just isn't right IMO. The presentation looks poor and the idents are hit and miss, but at least a bit more fun. CITV seems quite boring.


So looking forward I think history will pretty much repeat itself - ITV and ITV4 will refresh sooner rather than later (ITV4 could get away with just changing it's pres, not it's idents), while ITV3 will probably remain as it is until the next big rebrand.

Ouch, some major sound issues on ITV National Weather, very unpleasant 2 mins....

Seemed to be an HD problem.

Only seems to be present on ITV HD, standard SD was fine.

Only seemed to be on ITV HD. Was fine on ITV Central SD.

Ah I see, I thought it was a new feature of the rebrand to simulate crunchy heavy rain...

Were you watching on HD? SD was fine for me.

I do think the weather graphics are improvement on the previous pungent colour palette.

Black logo for the Emmerdale titles, don't think it stands out very well IMO.

One thing they've done very well is get everything to change all in one day. And I mean everything - catch the end of University Challenge later on BBC Two.
