Well, of course they broadcast in 14:9 in analogue. But the first time I've seen a digital channel output in 14:9!
Probably a first for me as well...in 2013. Modern...haha

Weather forecasts during Daybreak have always used Daybreak graphics, ever since the day it replaced GMTV.
Also, what's happening with ITV Weather? Here we have news branded 'itv NEWS' with no mention of Daybreak at all, and then the weather adopted the Daybreak style. A little messy, but otherwise good.

The new ITV News (oops, itv News) titles remind me of Central News in the 1990s:

I don't think that 8-note jingle is in every ident. Instead, it sounds as if they have two or more recurring musical themes. These themes are sometimes subtle, other times obvious, sometimes intertwined, other times standing alone. A much more modern, versatile and human composition method, much better than the rather forced "climax jingles" on e.g. BBC One.
The 8-note jingle also appears in some of the ITV3 idents.
Also really lovely to hear that every ident has its own music. Very much an improvement of the previous set that had the same poor music on most idents. I hope they keep this up and have the composer under contract to produce new music for all upcoming idents.
I'm eager to find out who the composer is.
Itv idents are a bit bland IMO, it also took me a while to find out what their jingle was ( it's 8 notes. The first 3 sound very BBC1)

Love It. The theme tune is great and Lambie Nairn are always amazing at things like this.

On top of that there been pumping out what ITV should have been doing for years. I disagree aswell stv should stay away from ITV. all this over 3 hours of opts a week.,.
No it might not be quite the right thread but I think it might be appropriate for the subject to be back on the radar, What programme's have they made apart from the odd holiday programme. As for your over 3 hours of opt outs a week, This wouldn't happen to include the nightshift with they're dated material. I'm talking about decent material. Apart from the news STV is nothing more than a below average station
I don't think it's quite the right thread for this debate George, but I disagree entirely. I'm not a fan of STV, but in terms of their branding and idenity of Channel 3 in Scotland, through their own idents, bumpers, promo endboards, regional news etc, they have a good, consistent look.
I'd like to see them use a few more idents from the stock they have, and some of the homegrown ads for STV Player do look a bit amateur, but in terms of content they are largely pumping out exactly the same as ITV.

I think you should start a new thread. I cant understand why anyone cares about the nighshift. ITV throws out nothing great at that time either, I just get the since some people have a chip about STV, because of the dramas being dumped.

ITV have posted 46 idents on their YouTube channel, of which 16 are ITV(1) idents.
