ITV Rebrand 2013

Jeremy Kyle's ditched his opening titles. The show this morning started off with just a still of his logo with itv underneath it and a pan across the audience and studio as the theme played.

This is the position of the DOG on my setup.. I think it's been placed in exactly the right spot to not look odd on a widescreen setup. Finally!



For some reason, uploading it to Metropol has flipped it upside down!

I think the DOG would be better off down the bottom, at least for the main channel.

The DOG is acceptable, as a watermark which is all it should be.

Incidentally, DMOL haven't rolled out the new ITV, ITV+1 and ITV HD channel identifiers yet on DTT.

Right, here's my twopenny worth.

I really didn't like the look of Pugwash yesterday, however, watching the idents on YouTube for all four channels and they're really very good. Every part of the rebrand so far looks fresh, modern and gives itv a more friendly look than the old logos which looked very corporate.

Shame that the regional sets have *still* not been radically changed, which is a missed oppurtunity really. National news looks very good though. The ITV idents work surprisingly well and aren't that bad as a concept, and some, such as the cyclists I quite like. The music is good too, though I think the logo should be on screen a little longer. ITV2, 3 and 4 are all brilliant too, though the logo still goes too quickly for my liking in ITV2's.

Agreed. These are really nice and I think show up the people/animals idents in use elsewhere.

I was quite cynical about this logo/re-brand, but the ITV identity seems to work well across the channels - I'm just a bit disappointed by the use of people in the idents of three out of the four channels. I find people idents get boring quite quickly, which is why ITV's balloon ident I caught at 9.25am actually looks really nice - colours and a bit of imagery.

I think ditching ITV2's bright green is a mistake, esp when it's been done in favour of bright red. I think the last ITV2 idents did look young, in-yer-face and stood out as to what the channel is about. The red idents I've seen look too generic, and remind me of the short-lived 'Virgin 1'.

ITV News regionally looks nicely unified from what I've seen. I quite like the pop-up astons, but I think the ITV NEWS WEATHER sting into the regional weather could have been better thought through.

Very minor points really.

Overall, ITV looks less stuffy and corporate now. Adam Crozier can put a big tick in the "refreshed brand for advertisers" box on his to-do list now.

One thing I'm not sure about is the ITV logo on the opening titles of things.

Caught it on This Morning and it looked too slapped on. Maybe it'll grow on me though.

The Sky EPG has now updated. ITV HD - and removal of the region name on 103.

Agreed, but I guess it is slapped on as the titles weren't designed for it in mind. I think it would've been a bit neater for the DOG to be opaque during the titles and maybe the first 30 seconds of the programme, then fade down.

After watching all the idents on YouTube, I like the style of the itv2 idents the most. Itv idents are a bit bland IMO, it also took me a while to find out what their jingle was ( it's 8 notes. The first 3 sound very BBC1) I really don't like the itv3 ones. They just feel boring. Itv4 are cool ones, but it's itv 2 that do it for me.

As for the news... I don't like the way the titles jump at the words 'itv news' but I love the studio. It reminds me of channel 5.

Bit disappointed with the weather. This would have been a great chance to go with the same theme as bbc with live weather rather than symbols thrown on a map....

Makes me wonder if they're going to do that with all the ITV Studios produced shows, namely Coronation Street and Emmerdale both of those show's titles will look strange with a itv logo slapped on them.
