And here's ITV3's credit squeeze, pretty similar really:

So we still have the random cloud/sun etc symbols dotted around a map, so you can't actually tell if some areas are going to get rain or sun or what.

I was hoping the new graphics would be a bit more like BBCs where it shows all the rain over the map so you can tell where it is going to be.

If you want to know that, surely watch the BBC's instead?

Aha, there goes Pugwash. The logo was a bit more visible and I must say that the dog is quite cute

So they probably won't use that ident into Loose Women then Laughing .

I quite like what I've seen so far. Regional news especially looks much more professional and slick. Before it all looked a bit like it was done on the cheap, titles made on Powerpoint etc. Love the London set, looking forward to that being rolled out everywhere else although the old studio looks so much better in blue.

I'm not certain about the idents yet. I prefer the breakbumper and would've liked some animation in that instead of the live action idents with a hidden logo.

Finally, its great to see ITV hopefully leading a trend of ditching safe areas. It's always seemed a bit irrelevant since you can no longer buy a 4:3 TV, and presumably not many people have them anymore.

Not long now until we see ITV News in action.

They're not really leading the trend, given the BBC changed their DOGs last year, and C4's channels have been doing it for a very long time indeed.

Quite an exciting day to work here though. Every employee's been given a new logo mug and bag. Very Happy

ITV's idents and promos aren't in the safe areas. I don't think BBC and Channel 4 have taken it that far yet.

Logistical success is rather a minor factor though, when the logo is bad and the company is heading south . . . Shocked

It's not though, ITV is currently doing very well: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2013/jan/13/itv-city-darling-mark-crozier

Although as noted in the Guardian's Mediatalk podcast last week, one advantage ITV have had recently is that media journalists have been more concerned with the BBC and News International so ITV has had a couple of years out of scrutiny
