It would make more sense to have The Voice after The Voice Kids for logistical purposes then BGT can start in late September.

The only problem with that is that, presuming there are 3 Voice shows and 7 BGT shows, BGT would finish 8 days before I’m a Celebrity usually begins. Presuming the show goes ahead in Australia, ant and Dec are usually out there by late October, although they could delay IAC by two weeks, with the final on 20th December.

There are only ever 2 Voice live shows. And the BGT recap could air the same night as The Voice final.

Although if BGT is in fact doing fewer shows then it’s not an issue anyway.

I added one recap show, it was confirmed that there would be recap shows for both of the shows.

Not keen on the pre-recorded aspect of BGT but needs must I suspect - just hope they can retain a live audience vote (without having fake reactions to getting through).

If they are cutting the semi finals down I think it might make sense just to cut the acts where social distancing or travel is a problem, perhaps guaranteeing them a slot next year as at the moment an audition tour looks unlikely, and if it goes ahead unlikely to include those sort of acts anyway.

I’m not keen either but I doubt the producers are either, like you say it’ll be a case of needs must. I’m not sure how they’ll manage to get a public vote in either, I’m not sure if the record fake reactions to different outcomes thing would work either as they couldn’t do the judges vote.

I guess one option could be to record the main show on a Friday and air it Saturday, then record a results show late Saturday or Sunday afternoon and air Sunday night. Expensive though. I hope they don’t have to ditch the public vote but we’ll see. It’s just a one off at least.

You raise an interesting point about auditions. Once this series is over it really isn’t long until they’d normally record the 2021 auditions and that could be tough. I wouldn’t be surprised if they stick to just one city (probably London sadly) and yeah certain types of acts could be really tough. So having some holdovers from this year might not be too bad although it would leave next year’s auditions a bit short.

Not sure how many holdovers they’ll have though. The two main ones from this year that spring to mind that will be difficult are Sign Along With Us and X1X Crew but the article references plans for both to perform this year. I wonder if they’ll air the deliberations from this year? I guess it depends on whether the lineup has changed much since.

They could just air the recap show of The Voice on the night of the first live show if necessary though. Recap at 7pm into the live show at 8pm.

I expect is would do very poorly like that. Although airing the BGT one on the night of the voice isn’t a bad idea - they still have the callbacks to show on BGT do we might get two recaps.

Presumably if they're cutting back to three semi-finals they'll have to redo the callbacks then as we're looking at a reduction from 40-45 acts to probably between 24 and 30.

In theory they could go up to 36 and have 3 shows of 12, although they’d need to extend the shows. Then that would leave 4 acts to defer to next year.

4 could go through each week to give a 12 act final.

As for The Voice, have they actually confirmed a recap show? I know they’ve confirmed a BGT one so it seems very likely they’ll do a Voice one but has it been announced? I expect it’ll do quite badly so can’t see it getting a big slot.

On Digital Spy I remember someone posting a news article about the postponed live shows from both series and it quoted Kevin Lygo as saying that there will be recap shows for both series.

Just saw a trailer for that Rolling in It with Stephen Mulhern. Airing this August.

Probably taking over from Ninja Warrior repeats.

Rolling in it is bad bad - was never going to see the light of day. ITV must be nearly out of new shows. Sticking QVC on would honestly be better.

How bad are we talking? Trailer doesn’t look that bad, looks a bit like The Wall with celebs, but I’ve heard it isn’t good.

well a certain ego thought this is the next best thing and trying to tell that ego changes need to be made. In most cases a bad show you can attempt to turn it into so bad it’s good. But I don’t think certain egos could contemplate that they don’t fart gold dust.

As a unspoken rule any new series airing from end of July to start of August by a channel are burning it off while everyone is outside or on holiday. Obviously this year is a bit different. But it’s not a good sign.
