I never really got why ITV signed actors to golden handcuffs because it never worked most of the time. The only ones that bore fruit was Martin Clunes who does a lot of projects for ITV but I don't think he's on a handcuffs deal anymore and to an extent Caroline Quentin.

I thought Jamie Oliver left the BBC for commercial reasons..... he could do adverts and sponsorship on Channel 4 that he couldn't at the BBC.

Yes it was due to his ads for Sainsburys, he was a free agent when he signed to C4.
There wasn't supposed to be any ad campaigns for Sainsburys around the time that a series of the Naked Chef aired on the BBC. It caused quite a few problems.

I noticed over the weekend ITV4 are still using those horrible zoomed/cropped/pan and scan prints of Mr Bean, best part of three years after I moaned here that they were using them on ITV2 at the time...

I think ITV3 is the only ITV channel that aired this in its correct format (and of course on the original airing), which they seem to have stopped doing in favour of the disaster of the current prints on the other stations.

Catchphrase will be Filming again next week, obviously with no studio audience.

I hope they embrace the lack of audience rather than have a canned audience.

This isn’t the Mark Curry era of Catchphrase.

I hate those cropped versions, but the 4:3 ones are still available. If you’ve ever watched Mr Bean on Prime Video they have the 4:3 versions with the modified TigerAspect endcaps at the end, so they are there.

Here’s the link: https://www.itvmedia.co.uk/latest-opportunities/itv-partnership-opportunity-family-fortunes

Hosted by Gino D’Acampo. The link doesn’t say anything about Sundays though.

It did say Sundays, they've now changed it to weekends. Probably is still for Sundays, I guess they don't want to give it away given that people can see those pages.

They used to be behind a registration wall, it's good that they aren't now and we can see them but given that there's an account who have started tweeting the details on them (and Digital Spy is being watched), perhaps they've decided to be a bit more vague.

But yeah, Sundays is a bit of a surprise, I was expecting Saturdays. Guessing it'll be 8pm.

I think they’d put it on Sundays as the centrepiece.

An hour slot seems a bit long when even Vernon Kay’s Celebrity version was only 45 minutes.
