Would TSW or TV-am have retained huge premises as increased competition squeezed budgets, or would they have downsized to a science park or hired space out at LWT respectively? Would TVS have avoided bankruptcy? Would Thames have been able to fight off a takeover bid from Carlton or Granada?
Your right we would have ended up with single ITV by 2002, but TVAM had plans to rent out space to CPT TV ( frost little project, who woudl have used the newsroom aswell) TVS would have merged with LWT and cut alot more stuff, I doubt anyone of them would have brought thames since no one wanted to buy the company even when the share were put up for sales years early.
