Next Thursday on BBC One sees the launch of a new drama series "The Street" which is an ITV Production.

Now whilst ITV making a series for another broadcaster is not especially new, formerly it would have gone under the old production arm name of Granada.

So is this the first 'ITV Production' for another broadcaster and are we likely to see the usual animated ITV Productions end-cap at the end of the programme next Thursday ?

the bbc don't like animated end caps do they - and usually require the production company's logo to be a certain size on a black background dont they?

Isn't it just going to stay as Granada for programmes not appearing on an ITV channel?

Maybe, but the BBC Press Office blurb has "ITV Production" all over it.

Bit off topic but kind of relevent, in that it was funny to see at the end of the queen's speech last year on BBC1 ''an ITN production.''

Why? ITN have produced The Queen for many years now - it's shared with the BBC. Can't remember if it alternates every year or every two years.

It's not completely unusual for Granada in particular to make programmes for the BBC - What the Papers Say is a long-standing Granada production but the most high-profile programme of recent years was The Royle Family. All end with Granada endcaps.

Talking of ITV Prods, does anyone think the endcap looks cheap and nasty? A static caption on a black background would have been better.

I agree, at first I thought it was nice, but now I think it's crap, it looks odd compared to other animated captions, I hate to say this but the Granada one was heaps better.

No completely the opposite, at least a bit of effort has gone into it. A static logo on a black background would be very boring.

It's very American in style, and the logo is too big. It does look tacky compared to the old Granada endcap.
