Here’s a promo for the ITV magazine, available in Waitrose.

So they're basically merging two of the (currently) five ITV segments into adjoining segments, leaving a separate 'i', 't', and 'v'. Makes sense, I suppose.

And that's what I showed with that preview of DBLG's graphics for the rebrand.

I am intrigued by the colouring of the logo. In both examples of the new three-part logo, we've seen a white/light grey 'i', a black/dark grey/dark blue 't', and a cream/faun coloured 'v'. I wonder if those are the new colours used for the standard ITV logo, as blue, black, green, pink, and yellow were in the previous five-segment version. If so, they've made quite a major change, going from incredibly colourful, to incredibly plain.

Quite so.
Well, we haven't got long to see what other colour combinations they'll be using

Not sure if anyone has seen this but...
ITV have officially announced via their YouTube channel, that they are going to launch a new On Air identity.

On the preview a few of them use the 5 segment logo as inspiration or as part of the design so maybe they’re not getting rid of it totally.

The logo still looks like they are colour matching to me with the logo using some of the main colours on the magazine cover.

I don’t like the slogan ‘more than TV’ because ITV isn’t much more than TV to be honest. And anyway isn’t just being TV enough? Obviously not.

They are diversifying by trying to enter SVOD and other markets - hence the Hub relaunch/continued acquisition of big production companies. Shifting away from 'TV' in the traditional sense that your mum sits down and watches Emmerdale.

Obviously, that brand still has this stigma and is largely still a part of what the company does/is best known for, but I think they are trying to be a far more agile/refined company as traditional viewing and ratings continue to decline.

sorry i've not read enough of this thread so it looks like ITV is keeping its logo, but they got these artists to come up with a look throughout the year?

In short 'What's your artistic interpretation of our ITV logo?'

I quite like the ‘cut out’ logo and the new colours. I’ve always thought the main 5 colours are a little garish and match quite poorly; the plain white logo has tended to look better.

With the more appealing colours and the new ITV Magazine only being available in Waitrose, it appears ITV are hoping to go more upmarket. Kevin Lygo appeared almost embarrassed at the TV Festival that Jeremy Kyle is the highest rated show in daytime for them, but it’s very unlikely they’d consider dropping it.

The new ‘More than TV’ slogan is a sign of television advertising in terminal decline. ITV Hub (or whatever it becomes) could become a fantastic service if it offered HD and the back catalogue of dramas and entertainment shows. ITV also own a range of production companies now which can turn a profit without relying on advertising. To truly justify the new slogan to the public they’ll need more than an on demand service and a magazine though.
