It should be noted the idents are mainly seasonal and special events, which means its more like 25 main ones per 3 months.
ITV's "seasonal" ident categorisation went out the window quite a while ago. They've been deviating from the original groupings quite a bit.
Viewers in UTV-land of course, have their own, considerably more limited, ident selection. If UTV doesn't switch to ITV continuity in January, I hope they at least do it a good turn and give them the same selection of idents as network.

I concur that Northern Ireland should get absolutely all of the new network idents, including future additions to the set, regardless of whether they be UTV or ITV(1) branded.
The limited selection that NI has been making do with since the ITV-esque rebrand is a very poor show. It can't possibly have been a big ask to produce UTV versions of more/many/most/all of the existing network idents?
I still miss their old ad style where there was a zoom in/out from the dot in ITV and all the channels seemed connected more and promos flowed nicely together. I'm still not a fan of the new end boards with the large text for the main channel.

Me too. I wonder if it had something to do with UTV because we had them on UTV but only for a short time after the rebrand and the positioning on UTV was a bit clunky.

The reason has already been posted on here back when the change happened. Along the lines of that each combination of channel bumper, promo, trailer link had to be prepared for - a very time consuming procedure.
As I've already said to the last person that said this, "tweak" was in reference to the overall ITV brand. The changes to ITV (the channel) sound a bit more meaty.
I've just been browsing the pages of The Ident Gallery ( ), and on looking at the Channel 4 pages from 2004, it crossed my mind that maybe that could be something along the lines of where ITV is going - with a "cut-out" logo and programme specific promos:

I could be completely wrong, of course...

Let's hope not, once again ITV would be years behide other TV companies. Will we have walking ITV man in 2025?

Yes, and the fact that most trailers actually air singularly so it was loads of work for little benefit.
It did look good though when you had a succession of trailers
Can I just ask, where was there a proper announcement that ITV are planning a new look to launch in January 2019? I have heard nothing about it except on this forum. Sorry if I am not up to speed.
