Sh*tterball and Fake You Play, has made me realise to never take low-budget docu-soap Redcoats and Turn on Terry and 'It's My Life' for granted. Laughing

In my view, all of these TV programs that get people to phone in on premium phone numbers should be banned. That Big Box Bingo s**t is just as bad!

He he hee...

Bet the continuity was shabby due to the absence of a duty announcer...remember when Quizmania was forced off air by a fire?

Right after the Glitterball credits, there was an ITV1 ident into the ITV Sport Classics, with no announcer airing across the network, then another ITV1 ident into the second edition of ITV Sport Classics. Then at around 3am, we had the STV ident which would have been used to introduce Costa Living at 4.10am. I am guessing there was just a normal ITV1 ident with no speech everywhere else.

I do remember when QM was taken off air. If I remember correctly, they initially played the theme tune with a static image on screen, then they realised that they wouldn't get back on air that morning.

Actually in England (or in Central at least) we had a pre-recorded anno saying:
'This is ITV1, Now a change of schedule with an extra Programme'.

Did Glitterball end early due to a problem with the phone lines or was it not getting enough callers to make carrying on worthwhile?

A cynic would suggest they may have told someone who had the correct answer they had the wrong answer and faked the problems. Thats why I'm wondering if they revealed the correct answers before going off-air.

AFAIK a lot of them don't reveal their answers anyway do they? *Maybe* it was actually technical problems.

Shocked Laughing I bet that was a welcome change. I wasn't up at that time - but even if I was, I'm not sure I would've spotted it as I tend to avoid the channel during those hours!

Embarassed LOL. I couldn't sleep, and Glitterball, believe it or not, was the most entertaining thing on Freeview.
