ITV Play axed

Has one channel ever had so many facelifts, ITV1 is like a football team, new strip every season to rip off their fans.
But having said that, good news on the end of ITV rip-off, I think we will probably see JK 60-second makeover from 2am/3am but up to then probably classic movies and shows like Crimestoppers UK, Bouncers, things like that.
Interesting to read it will be 60 minute dramas from 9pm and comedy or other filler from 10pm, let the return of News at Ten debate finally rest in peace?

By facelift I presume the schedules will change, not the branding. Would seem silly after all these new idents.

Well a facelift changes the way a person looks: it's still the same person underneath, just one that looks a little more startled than they did beforehand.

Therefore a channel facelift will surely only be cosmetic and have no real effect on schedules.

They seem to spend more on rebrands than anything else! All that guff about how it didn't make sense for ITV to have 15 seperate brand identities in 2002, none of their subsequent "new looks" has lasted over 14 months...

The BBC is getting just as bad - maybe not on BBC1 and BBC2 but on their lesser channels - why did CBBC need two relaunches in as many years when sister channel CBeebies has maintained the same look since launch? Funny how the latter is the more successful "brand"; but watch any CBBC output and the programme endcaps are a mix of all three identities the channel has sported over the last five years.

Yes, he is to be encased in perspex and put on display in the National Television Museum as an example of how not to present a TV Show.
