playalong has just CRASHED!
izit was on & the first round ended, never went to the second round & there was clean music.
now it's just the idents over & over again

This seems to be a issue with the TwowayTV software, it looks like it relies on manual intervention when it falls over. Strange thing that, building a complicated system that talks to potentially hundreds of SMS messages, yet doesn't appear to have any means of self-recovery. Still its not the first time TwowayTV's fallen over and I dare say it won't be the last.

I hope the software gets a virus and burns.

Quizmania - axed from ITV (probably due to production costs) but it could possibly start up again maybe on their own channel or.. another TV station, (Take that with a pinch of salt)

The Mint - "rested" But supposed to be coming back later this year, however I'm unsure about that.

Ah thanks dbl. It was like one minute they were there, then the next they were gone. What happened to Brian, Bev, the two Kats ?

The sceptical view is they were dumped in favour of Make Your Play which is an in-house ITV production, therefore getting to keep more of the revenue. Also could be lumped in with this view is the sudden realisation that Play DJ makes a packet in profit by virtue of the fact it gives away minuscule cash prizes. PlayAlong makes lots of profit because it gives nothing away whatsoever as its all dependent on the Bonus Ball Bonanza, plus its costs are only transmission, a computer some electricity and a TwowayTV software licence.

The more practical view is, both shows came to the end of their series, officially. I dare say the bottom's about to fall out of the Quiz TV market what with new regulations, the current sagas being played out in the tabloids, OFCOM in two minds as to whether to classify the channels as Teleshopping, Gordon Brown threatening to take some of the profit if the channels end up being classed as lotteries - the list goes on.

It crashed again after 2.50 - They were playing ident after ident. I gave up at 2.55 - They probably stayed with it until that dodgy new prog started at 3.
