A source has confirmed to QuizTelly.com that The Mint Mansion will be closing it's doors for the final time on Wednesday 28th February.

The Mint is to replaced by a brand new show called "The Glitter Ball", this will be made by the same company that currently produces The Mint.

Glitter Ball? Have we run out of names for programmes all of a sudden?
Sounds like something you'd expect to see as part of an item package on Strictly Come Dancing.

Meanwhile, Greggles has new work according to his website, but he'll still be on ITV Play.

Shopping channel iBuy (From Jan 15th at 6pm)
Play DJ (various shift patterns, starting from 10pm on Jan 17)

Speaking of which, Greg's schedule for Play DJ is 1:20pm-4:40pm on the 21st. Who's clever idea was that then, and what's wrong with 1:15-4:45 like everybody else?

Glad he's got new work so quickly, always liked Greggles, he was also about the only watchable one off of Price Drop TV (of which omeone mentioned in an Email he read out the other night, they played the cheering audience sound effect once he said it Very Happy )

Hopefully he'll shake up PlayDJ and make it his own. Its completely pointless trash at the moment.

from what I saw, there were no new games last night. Somebody shut ITV Play now... it's a waste now QM has ended.

If Greg has allegedly got a contract to run with ITV Play, maybe he will host The Glitter Ball, whatever that turns out to be

I watched about 5 mins of Play DJ yesterday, Nigel Mitchell isn't a bad presenter but I just think the programme is terrible, it has bits from Playalong in it frequently. The only time I'm going to watch ITV Play is tomorrow just to see a bit of Greggles, end of.

I reckon ITV Play's on its way out now, anyway... apart from the late night slots on ITV1.

Think about it: Play now has a measly three shows (Play DJ, Make Your Play and The Mint) and even after introducing the new show will still only have three, as The Mint will have finished by then.

I can see them keeping just MYP (late night ITV1) and Playalong (after MYP finishes - about 4 or 5am).

PlayDJ is attracting some disturbing messages...

"Your hair looks lovely today. Have you been to the hairdresser?"

"Your teeth look really white today. Keep smiling for your fans"

It'll be interesting if the texts are Quizmania related tomorrow night. The obvious ones may be stripped out, but the subtle ones using catchphrases, crew members names, in-jokes etc may get through

I'm really not seeing Greg hosting this - its going to feel like such a come down. Ok I know Quizmania wasn't the pinnacle of broadcasting but still.

This show just reminds me of the CBBC Broom cupboard.

Another thing, do they actually play any music? I've never heard any. "ooh we've had a request for Take That!"

Not the pinacle of broadcasting, but certainly the best in it's genre.

I know it's not the ratings but the revenue the success of these programmes and channels are judged upon, but has there ever been much info released about the ratings for ITV Play, and more specifically for each programme.
