Digital Spy reported yesterday that ITV have extended their deal to broadcast on Mux D for another 5 years - through till 2011.


While I know C4 bid for their crown castle slots stating their +1 channels would be replaced at a later date, did ITV do the same with Men and Motors. It doesn't seem right they could win the bid with a mens channel then turn it into a games channel!

Perhaps ITV Play was always part of their bid? NGW wouldn't have had to disclose their plans for the slot at the time of the win, just that it would be an entertainment channel.

I'm thinking that Quizmania is going to be part of "ITV Play" i.e. an ITV Play ident will precede the programme.

I'm a bit confused here! Is ITV Play a dedicated channel or just a strand within other ITV channels - similar to ITV Day on ITV1?

The female announcer has said that ITV Play is launching tonight on ITV1.

From what I know a bit of both, the channel starts on the 19th I think.

I'm still confused! Has ITV Play launched or not? And if so - where?

So far it seems that ITV Play is only a strand on ITV1/2 with a possible full channel of this launching in the future? DO we really need this 24 hours a day?

How ironic, the first caller is Debbie. Had me thinking if it was the Debbie of Quizmania saying give us back our slot!

Its cr@p so far. I know its been on for minutes but first game is guess a sign of the zodiac and you win a basic £100. You then take part in the main prize round which is the Vault itself in which you have to guess the 4 digit combination to open the safe to win 100k.

I'm no good with probabilty but that could run on for years! At least with Quizmania, one of the games they had involved just 50 keys to open a lock. However with the mint, the combination appears on a video screen so with any independent adjucation, in theory they could keep it right to the very last combination.

If only I had digi to watch Quizmania on ITV2!
