ITV Play

As we already have ITV2/3 +1 how about CITV Channel+1 and ITV4+1???

Actually they might end up sneaking ITV2+1 on to Freeview - in the short term at least!


Personally I'd like an ITVi interactive stream - but commercially the space on Freeview is probably too valuable, though they could fill the downtime with ITV Playalong.

Play DJ's gone Christmassy today - as I said before it looks like Quizmania's going to have Festive titles and (really cheap and sparce, I expect) decorations when it starts at 10:00 PM tonight too.

I can't wait 'till it gets really stupid and we end up with something like ITV1+1+4+8+9+Last Tuesday

Well, that hasn't happened - yet! Quiz Telly.com now saying they'll end their "current series" on Friday.

Beach gone, "Alpine Ski Lodge" in its place!

Deck area has become a winter area with a bear's head, a polar bear wearing a wooly hat, lots of snow, wooden garden furniture and a new seating area with two red armchairs.

The pink side of the studio has christmas trees outside the "metal frame windows" and a new "wood-style" desk. There's a moose's head on the wall, a rack of coats and a pair of skis - the jukebox remains (obviously too expensive to get rid of!!)

The floor has been repainted and the door to the studio is a lot more cabin looking. The speed round podium is all silver, as is the frame around the plasma screen.

Red and green "snow-covered" graphics have replaced the pink and blue ones, although they're still obviously the same design.

There's some new Christmassy music during Speed Rounds and lots of new sound effects - also, the Christmas version of the titles made an appearance.

... think I've covered everything! I haven't seen anything this Christmassy since the Big Brother Panto lodge (actually quite similar) - it's bloody brilliant!!

I was also very impressed. Much more so than last year.

The only thing that they could have done is changed the background in the pink area as thediaryroom has refered to it to match the one in the outdoor part of the lodge. It is very festive indeed.

It's about time that Quizmania returned to ITV1, what is that Make Your Play supposed to achieve by not being entertaining at all? At least the mint has something in their dual presenter format.

That could be down to poor reporting from QT.com or yet again ITV Play's press office giving them poor information.

Quizmania's red and green graphics (With baubles, snowmen and Christmas trees) have mysteriously vanished - the snow is still there though.

Seems a bit strange - why spend all that time doing special graphics only to scrap them the next day?

EDIT: Perhaps they couldn't be bothered to change the non-tower graphics (snake word, find the word, etc.) - although that hasn't stopped them before. They've been juggling three different styles of graphics (in three different shades of blue) for the past month and that doesn't seem to bother them.

I know this isn't ITV Play but Cash Call has just advertised on The Hits for their first game at midnight. Apparently you can phone to register and you need to know the answer to this game...

Presenter: "You have to be "famous" to acquire this.."

Oooh tricky....give me strength!

The Cash Call one that runs on the EMAP channels always look really dodgy, anytime I either go to bed late or get up very early and see this on it is usually a bizzare game crossed with a gormless presenter looking into the camera for some time, I know this is often done on Quiz Call or TGBBQ, but on Cash Call it looks rather unprofessional.

From the eyes of EMAP I can see the potential of opening up The Hits slot to other companies for money, but this is awful, looks like you'd see something at the bottom of the Sky Channels.

I find it scary that most nights on Freeview between 12am and 1am you get Phone in programmes on ITV1, Five, The Hits, Ftn, TMF, ITV Play, Five US and Smile TV.

Remind me: is Cash Call the one that looks like a mock done by a TV Forum troll?
