Noticed tonight that ITV Play now have a new show - The Call - airing from 3pm - 8pm according to the EPG.

Don't know if This Morning Puzzle Book ran before it - this is from the same team in a modified studio with virtually the same graphics.

TMPB is still on, before The Call. It's the same studio, actually - they're just opposite sides of the room!

I'm not sure what the purpose of splitting it into two shows is; perhaps it's to do with people complaining that TMPB is on for too long. Rolling Eyes

Great name. The Call... Rolling Eyes Nice to see they're not all brainless unoriginal minds at ITV Play.

No offence Greggles.

It's already on Sky 856 in England, but I expect things are quite different in ROI. *Shrug*

I totally agree, Men and Motors is far better than ITV4, and I have freeview, I would happily welcome the channel back and wave goodbye to Play and ITV4

Why would ITV Play and ITV4 need to close for one channel to come back?

itv4 might be too similar to m&m but they did broadcast alongside each other for 6 months(and still do on Sky/NTL) wen itv4 launched then m&m was axed for play. I wudnt be botherd if itv4 AND play wer axed if m&m was brought back to freeview.

I'm no fan of the way these channels and programmes have invaded our screens in the last year (though find myself tuned into Quizmania more time than I'd like to admit) - but the idea of regulating them as a lottery and as a result, 20% of revenue going to charity, isn't helping the viewers at all.

In fact they'll just end up paying more as call prices rise to cover the additional cost.

Yes, they do need to be clearer and cut back the maximum number of calls (150 is still over £100 a day!) However, viewers should be aware that if calls cost 75p to win say just £50, simple maths tell you that just to cover the cost of that your talking of them taking at least 100 calls.

As for the channel itself - I've been saying a bit lately I don't think it's probably very profitable and ITV Play's profits are hugely distored by the overnight slots on ITV1.

I wouldn't want to see Men and Motors back though - it was great when it launched on Freeview but after a few weeks got stuck in the same cycle of programmes. ITV News would be my preferred choice, but highliy unlikely, so I say just an ITVi stream which could continue to air ITV Play content (such as Playalong during the day, perhaps even Quizmania at night) when not in use.

Please somebody surgically remove Craig Stevens from the ITV network. He's like a schoolboy on acid. Rolling Eyes

Looks like Playdate has been axed (from ITV Play at least) and Quizmania got a couple of hours back, airing from 8pm-1am.

I just flicked it on for about 30 seconds, the question is

HAND ____

Now if I were still a schoolboy, I would be praying for someone to phone up with a certain answer that would probably make Ofcom complain Very Happy

Then hopefully they'd get loads of complaints and the ITV Play system got overloaded and blew up and in its space they either had to put Men and Motors or ITV2+1 ... okay I'm getting a bit carried away it will never happen Crying or Very sad although I must admit The Mint makes good viewing on a Saturday morning when drunk Laughing
