I remember Charlie Brooker texting through to one of the dating channels as featured on Screenwipe - he should have been more sarcastic!
Also, being a single man, I decided on the unfortunatecy to tune into Playdate the other night. I know I know! I was just seeing what it was all about. As I predicted it was complete desperation, just full of people who have "previously been on" X Factor and some girl who apparently appeared on Drunk and Dangerous. When the Russian guy did a piece to camera and some Scottish bloke revealed his thrupny bits to the nation - I turned over, that was enough! This is where ITV has gone to the pits.
Goodness, Quizmania's been busy. Costumes and a spooky makeover for the studio tonight.
Even the "sausage" graphics have cobwebs and blood - when they said they were doing a halloween special I just expected a "HALLOWEEN STUFF" wordsearch or similar.
(By the way, no expense spared for Puzzlebook's "special" - they had a lightning sound effect, and... and... well, that was it really.)

I remember that they went all out last year for Halloween, yet didn't seem to do anything that special for Christmas, whether it was because it went onto ITV1 at that time or not I don't know. Then again, they didn't introduce their summer set until the end of August.
More questionable change at ITV Play again with Quizmania's hours cut in half to make way for ITV Playdate, which will air through till 10pm before QM takes over for three hours.
Makes little commercial sense IMO, especially as it happens the same day Quiz Call leaves Freeview.
Looks like the writing is on the wall then - tonights "Hot Topic" is inviting suggestions for new jobs for the hosts and crew!
No it wasn't suggesting anything of the sort.
The Hot Topic was asking if the big QM didn't exist (as in had never been invented), what jobs would the cast and crew be doing instead and not "after QM, where should we go next?"
In any case the Hot Topic's always been an excuse to fill some airtime as opposed to doing "quiz channel posing", like you see most often on Quiz Call.
If QM had never been invented then Debbie would just be another faceless local TV blonde weathergirl - which is frankly where she belongs. Flash would be a wierdo - oh wait he is already -, Greggles would be back at Butlins, locked up like a circus animal and little children would feed him scraps of paper from his 1980s joke books. Finally, as QM started the whole ITV play **** in the first place, there would be NO Mint, no Play-****-Date, no Izit or Bonus Ball, or no other Play-related crap. AND MEN AND MOTORS WOULD STILL BE ON FREEVIEW!!!!
