Last night with Nigel they were taking non-stop calls, literally call after call for at least an hour. This shows up some of those other channels

Tonight Greggles is in his element as they are asking for Game Shows. He's obviously very knowledgeable about his game shows, he is telling us background info about every answer given!

I bet hits on The Game Show Page website are going sky high tonight as people search for answers, almost everyone who is getting through is going with the big money obscure answers

Someone has just said "Stash" with Paul Hendy!


But no-one has said "Swag" or "Keynotes" yet - I can't phone in due to fact I'm in Holland!!!!!

Not really worth a new thread, but a couple of notes about Quizcall.

Firstly, earlier today for a short period they switched to a free phone number.


Secondly, last week in the wake of the Charles Allen thing someone from C4 said that Quizcall was kept out of the main brand as it was basically aimed at a different audience to C4!

Well, this week they've been advertising it much more regularly than in the past, especially during Countdown and Deal or No Deal, with presenters popping up to tell you they are now live on Quizcall giving away cash!

Its Happy Famiilies! - for £300! Well, They drop the money offer and don't do non-stop callers when they give a clue now do they.

I bet another one of the answers is Winning Lines, if not already said.

Freephone numbers sound like a disaster for quiz TV channels, even for a short amount of time.

It's like Poundland declaring "EVERYTHING FREE!" for an hour... they'd have nothing left! (Although, I suppose it *IS* Quiz Call. That might be the only way to get people calling. Laughing)

Only got 5, but if you had some free SIM cards around you could get another 5 etc.

Got about 35 free calls and not once did I even get on hold, let alone to the studio. But at least I got loads of free tickets for some telephone number draw Rolling Eyes

EDIT: Ah, sorted. A (prerecorded?) announcement and still of the ITV Play logo... and then the Quizmania titles, missing the first few seconds. Laughing

This seems to happen on every programme junction since the schedule was changed on Monday. It was interesting first couple of times, now it's just looking shoddy.

Yiolanda of long-term Nickelodeon and more recently TGBBQ fame is presenting Extra Mint at the moment

Extra Mint doesn't even run for 12hrs, it only runs for 10.

Mind you, Extra Mint is a strand with absolutely no atmosphere whatever, it couldn't be any more unimaginative and dull than it is at the moment, with presenters who look as if they don't want to be there.

This rejig of the ITV Play line up is so bad - even by ITV scheduling standards!

The only improvement really has been Quizmania in primetime.

This Morning Puzzle Book at 3pm is as stupid as it sounds, they might as well not bother with The Common Room in it's 30 minute slot while the Rovers Pub Quiz at 2pm seems pointless. And then they go and just put The Mint on all weekend - when ITV Play's strongest selling point has been having a variety of shows, not just the same set up all day!
