Well known ITV Breakdown music there. Used once when the ITV News went and the time they decided to 'start the evening on ITV1' once.
Ah yes, I remember it well from that. Always loved the brief snippet of this music we got on there, so it's nice to finally hear a longer snippet of it FriendsFanatic.

I'm listening. Well, reading. I'm getting a KIND of feeling that you're not a fan of quiz shows / channels... Would I be right?
The fact is, however, that there are people who DO like them, they enjoy playing them. They are being catered for, and so are you - wherever your tastes may lie.
I don't have a problem with you expressing your obvious dislike of the genre; but you do seem to have a hatred SO intense that you're really not going to do your blood pressure any good (As exhibited in your signature graphic - something I imagine you created as you pulled the legs off a fly, and stuck pins in an effigy of Charles Allen).
Spend time watching the things you like rather than the things you don't like. You'll feel so much better. I believe there's a documentary about devastation, famine, plane crashes and dying puppies on BBC Four tonight... might cheer you up a little bit....

OK quiz channels and shows are bad enough, they're the scum of the universe - you listening Greg? - and the sooner they're gone the better. In fact however crap that PartyPeople thing on SmileTV is, it's way better than Quizworld, and at least finally someone's using the downtime of UKTV History. But The Mint last night was on ITV1, ITV2 AND ITV Play. Annoying? Yes. Overkill? Definately.

Some things I've noticed as of late with the entire Quiz TV concept:
1) The bubble is definitely due to burst at some point in the near future, as QuizCall have changed their number (again) and now charging 75p per call to enter, up from 60p before. Plus they don't seem to be taking anywhere near as many calls as they used to.
2) Either the puzzles are getting harder on The Mint, or the people phoning the show up are getting thicker. One can quite easily tune in after 75mins on air to find none of the answers on the tower games having been taken. Likewise, Pop The Q (on TMF) seems to get through the tower games very quickly so either those games are very easy or the intelligent ones have deflected to TMF.
3) Quiz Night Live seems painfully reluctant to give anything away whatsoever. Games have prizes of a few thousand, the total jackpot prize is now fast approaching £100k and puzzles seem to consist entirely of "Add all the numbers" and run for a week at a time.

Makes me wonder who the people are who "DO" like them when you broadcast right after pub/club chucking out time. Do you deliberately target the drunken, know-it-all, grab-some-quick-cash demographic?
The through the day ones on ITV Play are targeted at the bored and the poor, at single mothers, teenagers, poverty-stricken students - in fact, the same people targeted by Ocean Finance, Lombard Direct and all the other "consolidate your debt into one managable payment" crowd.
You're not "catering for" them, you're exploiting them. While people ring up huge phone bills trying to get through to try and win money, you're happily poncing about in front of the camera in a pink fluffy studio (you can tell Debbie King created QM can't you) giving the answers away when you're all falling asleep at 3am - and collecting your appearance fee while you do it.
And as for that last paragraph, well I won't even try to dignify it except to say that it was totally offensive, inappropriate and totally irrelevant. I enjoyed creating that sig graphic because it symbolises the feelings of so many users on this forum who feel that ITV as an entity is now the laughing stock of the British TV industry.
So much of what made ITV watchable has gone, so much so that only F1, football, Corrie, the Bill and boxing gives ITV any credibility. Simon Cowell holds ITV to ransom almost with his "talent" vehicles; Dancing on Ice was a clear ripoff of Strictly Come Dancing; CITV has been culled beyond belief, regionalism is dead and ITV News is just a sneering broadcast version of the right wing press. If you accuse me of wishing death on Charles Allen you'd be wrong, but I would want those who've ruined ITV called to account.
And I've never believed that the user on this forum called "Greggybaby UK" is the real Greg Scott, so you can drop the charade now. You are obviously a very sick individual pretending to be Greg, and you should refrain from representing him in the future. Or, if you really are the real Greg, posting comments like that, you should think carefully about how your comments could be used. There are users on this forum with connections which could be exploited to your disadvantage should they choose to. Be warned.

Let's see how accurate you are here then:
Drunken? Know-it-all? Grab-some-quick-cash demographic? Poor? Single mothers? Teenagers? Poverty-striken students?
Nope I'm none of those and yet I'm a fan. I'm a student but certainly not poverty stricken. I watch Quizmania because I find it entertaining. I'm not naive, I'm not sitting there with my finger on redial because I'm too dumb to understand the concept of racking up a huge phonebill, I use the free web entry, something which is emphasised on numerous occasions by the presenters. I certainly do not feel exploited. As you so obviously despise these channels I wouldn't expect you to know also that the presenters regularly say during the course of a show to set a personal limit and not to go over it. I find your comments towards those of us who enjoy quiz channels rather patronising and rude to be honest, they are catering to an audience (and not the one you seem to think) just like any other show.

ITV are pathetic, they've been doing this on other sites for years.
It's usually the production companies in my experience
You know the sort that advertise for contestants for a "great new show coming soon to ITV. Contact XYZ at ABC Productions" etc
