ITV Play

I don't understand, ITV Play are clearly transmitting to the studio and The Mint backing music plays but obviously the presenters haven't turned up? still in make-up? arrived late? in dispute?

who's meant to be presenting it tonight?

The auto-anno just said
"we cannot get back to the programme and we hope it doesn't spoil your viewing... this is ITV Play".

Now we're just left with the ITV Play ident on repeat.

Logical explanation is the presenters didn't think they had to turn up until later on when ITV2 tune in etc. Quizmania is on ITV1 at 1.05.

EDIT - now cut to ITV Playalong - thats it then, no Mint action tonight.

Wow, a mighty cock-up then. Normal service for me on the ITV Play website - a black screen.

How could they think that though? Doesn't The Mint start at around midnight every day on ITV Play?

A major oops indeed. It will be interesting to see if The Mint turns up on ITV2 at 1.30.

There has been transmission to the studio so its obviously down to the presenters! If only the titles had failed they'd just do a straight cut to the studio surely?

I suppose one other explanation is that the on-screen graphics have malfunctioned again, but surely that doesn't take a programme off air does it?

Nope, and even if they were still in make-up I'd be fairly sure the programme would take priority over Mark's spikes!

Either they have forgotten what time they're supposed to be on as you said or they just couldn't be bothered to come in (unlikely but if right would mean dire consequences for the pair of them).

Well, they've probably gone down the pub to watch the World Cup final - had a bit too much to drink etc etc. Apparently Craig Stevens didn't turn up one night (because of a similar reason) and Bev French had to do the complete show on her own.

I think they're being paid too much easy money - thats my opinion obviously. I know a lot of the presenters (notably on Quizmania) are often going off on holidays (i.e. to Spain, Greece etc) every few weeks or so. Now I know our Greggles isn't one of those!

Maybe they are down the pub but at least that time Bev was around to do it! Can't see a whole show being taken off air because of presenters not turning up boding well with the bosses...

Could be something logical like an evacuation or the even the computer that controls the games/phonelines could have gone down meaning they couldn't go ahead.

I wonder if Quizmainia will go out on ITVPlay tonight then.
