Worth
£120.000
- and thats not the jackpot prize. Whats the con with this one? Keep people on hold until they've decided the game's over? Someone at ITV HQ has been stirring again.
Have they scapped the mint? The vault door just displays 'MINT'. Was it like that before? Maybe the £120,000 word game has replaced it for a while? It only lasted 10mins, but "it may come back". Hmmm
The mint jackpot seems rather pointless now. It was nice idea, and a good selling point for the programme, but it's hardly exciting. The chance of someone winning is virtually nil. Only 3 or 4 people get to have a go per night. But i spose ITV like it that way..
Looks like The Mint vault is not operational tonight. There's only one standard cash prize on offer. It was pointless anyway as they weren't letting practically anyone have a go at the vault.
Con gone wrong then.
ITV are going to be in my bad books until that excuse of a entertainment programme, Love Island has finished.
It may be pointless, but how come the ITV Play dog has moved to the right of the screen on ITV Play?
All of the graphics for the shows are created so that they don't affect the dog, just look at the mint on ITV1 (where the dog is still on the left), and compare it to the version on ITV Play. It just doesn't fit in with the rest of the channels.
Anyone find the "ITV Playalong" text based games much better than the live stuff.
The recorded voice over is far less annoying, and the games are a bit more interesting with definate answers given within minutes.
Must cost a fortune to play though - you have to text several times to get on the leader board and into the "Bonus Ball" thing - which no one ever seems to win!

The Playalong elements are, Quizmania excepted, better than the rest of the output on ITV Play IMO.
Graphically and stylistically, it looks like a lot of effort and imagination has been put into the design and execution of the games, especially Izzit? with the animated cars throwing out bubbles to put each phrase together - although for some reason the game background reminds me of Shrek's swamp
Plus you get dry but short Central-like ITV Play idents between the games too...
I don't know what's worse to be honest. Hardly 'ITV Play' though is it? Although I should imagine they'll put up supposed games on a caption bar throughout the streaming.
"Will Sophie and Turdbrain get together? Text 28472356 to blah blah blah ... texts cost a minimum of £5"

This isn't totally unique to ITV Play though, the same thing can be seen on at least four other TV channels on Sky (up in the channel 840+ section usually) at varying times. The interesting thing is though that they all use exactly the same text number (different charges though and a different keyword) across the services, so it looks like a complex setup to run four different puzzles at the same time.
But I do agree though, it looks very pretty and executes quite well. It is quite expensive at 60p a text though, considering the top prize only ever seems to be £1000, which you only get on the Bonus Ball and to get on that, you need to do a lot of texting. I dare say texters who win only break even at best.
Haha, The Mint is supposed to start now on ITV Play but technical probs have occured. We've seen a shot of the studio vault doors flash up twice but obviously the presenters aren't ready or .... in dispute?
Now an ITV Play holding graphic with funky 80's disco music filler!
