An absolutely classic moment last night on Quizmania at about 3.30am on ITV2. Debbie King had printed off this email containing a joke, which originally she said she didn't get - but she said she'd read it out anyway.
"What's the difference between light and hard".
"You can sleep with a light on".
As soon as she said it on air, she finally understood it - and then she was speechless for about a minute, showing extreme embarassment, and also looking a tad worried she'd get complained about!!! Oh dear Debbie. The crew were in fits of laughter anyhow.
Oh such a fulfilling life I lead.

I know I've slgged off these quiz shows, but I thought I'd try to get through to The Mint last night. Around 8 calls, not one was sucessful. What's worse, is they have 2 types of "unsuccessful"- one is where you don't get put through to a line, another is where you are, but then you get told you aren't going to put through to the studio, at which point you're abruptly cut off. In this sense The Mint is just as much of a con as all the other quiz channels out there, although other elements of the show are at least less of a con compared to all these other channels. I won't be phoning them again though. If I ever did get through, I'd end up spending more calling them than I'd win
:-(
The presenters should tell you that you are charged weather or not you get throught - ive never heard any of the presenters on The Mint say this. Some other quiz channels have in the past.
I dont mind quiz channels, but "your charged 60p weather you get through or not" surley thats not fair? Everyone should at least have an equal fair chance?

It does say on the scroll at the bottom of the screen though. You're still more likely to be rejected than get through. Like big_fat, I also tried to ring the mint last night because they were going on about how The Mint was going to be opened. I was also unsuccesful on the 5 or 6 calls I made. I certinally won't be ringing again, what I've said about quiz channels being cons it right (even if ITV play is less of a con than others)- it's a waste of money.

According to Media Guardian they take about 60,000 calls an hour, so your chances of getting through are tiny.

Yeah, and the hype about the jackpot last night probably meant they had even more callers than normal.

Right, well I stayed up to see the vault open last night, just before going to bed.
They practically gave it away in the end.. "Its an even number and its not 24, 42 etc etc" In the end it was 8648 - which I am pretty much certain has been said before on another evening. Of course, as the vault in the studio is only a 'prop' (which it obviously is anyway) they had to play an animation of the vault opening. Unfortunately the whole event was ruined by Ubnoxious Craig Stevens and his constant flirting with the Cheeky Tarts.
Anyway, they've started again tonight on a complete clean slate.
I notice Kevin 'stary eyes' Adams - of Fame Academy fame hosts the show when other presenters aren't available. So choreographer to the stars and hosting The Mint - not a bad days work.
Also, looks like ITV have found their replacement for Today with Des and Mel....... Lionel Blair.

It's nice to see QM giving away some sensible money again - £1000 top answer on the tower game and a new £5000 "Jackpot Game".
The Jackpot's a bit odd though - because you don't have to be a winner to play it. Think... a £5000, Speed Round version of "Beat the Presenter".
EDIT: The Jackpot Game's BLACK _______ tonight, I think.
